Hi
I have Acer 5742G. I have 1.27 bios version from this site but there are not many unlocked menus, options, Insyde bios sucks... More memory for dedicated card is very interesting. Also have ATI Mobility HD 5470 on this machine. Is it possible to overclock settings of this card? Wideo bios is part of machine bios, e.g. vmod: 0.90 is default, 0.95 should be better. Default timings: core 750 Mhz, memory 800 Mhz are low too. This link: http://forum.notebookreview.com/7095789-post1517.html
tells me that 850Mhz/950Mhz are safe for ATI Mobility 5470 (but Phoenix BIOS and Acer 5740G).
Thanks

Once again. I've found version 1.24 with added UEFI module:
http://rajko.info/acer/tools/
but 1.24 is to old and I don't know is it safe for my ATI card based machine.

You can use MSI Afterburner as standalone to raise the clock speeds of GPU. You can also use it to enable OverDrive in CCC.

Download and install MSI AfterBurner.

Enable OverDrive:

Make a batch file with the following command in the MSI Afterburner folder then run it.

MSIAfterburner.exe -xcl

Should get a message to reboot if it worked right. When you reboot and go into CCC you should see the Performance/AMD Overdrive option. Hope this helps.

Enable AfterBurner:

Also, if you want to get Afterburner working stand alone then open the config file and type this statement in the [ATIADLHAL] section as shown. Also note the UnofficialOverclockingMode is changed to 1.

[ATIADLHAL]
UnofficialOverclockingEULA = I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it.
UnofficialOverclockingMode = 1
AccessibilityCheckingPeriod = 0
UnifiedMemoryUsageMonitoring = 1

Thank you,
OverDrive unlocked, in AfterBurner voltage and power control are locked but newer mind. Thanks.
