hi nullxff,
did you cut the bios provided here to fit the 4MB flash ROM?
if so, can you tell me how to know which part should be cut,
or just cut the remaining part after 03FFFF0?

thanks in advance for your help.

thanks for your effort, however after sending my previous reply on your post,
i've got an idea to compare file provided with whitelist removed from this forum, back-up from fpt64.exe and back-up from my flash programmer.
based on back-up from my flash programmer, i cut the file from first offset to 00300000.
the resulted file size is the same between those 2 files.
so i write to the ROM.
at first i got verification failed after writing to ROM.
then i decided to erase, blank check, then write again.

and here i am, writing this message using T430 with broadcom 4322AG installed. Smile

thanks again.

btw, just in case someone else need my flash programmer type,
I use GQ-4X from mcumall.com
but at youtube, once i saw someone using ezp2010 flashing MX25L3205

Hello,

Is it possible to bypass the whitelist in a Lenovo Thinkpad T530?

I am using Ubuntu linux on my laptop, because of this I would like to use the bios update CD option instead of the bios update tool for windows.

The bios update cd image can be found here:
http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/...uj19us.iso

Thank you for your help!

Greetings,
Iemand

EDIT: Maybe it's also a good idea to mention the card that I want to use with this laptop:

F3507g with ID 413c:8147

I also have a "lenovo" 3g module that was supposed to be compatible with my laptop but apparently is not:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/140529444772?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

I do not know the ID's for this card since it does not show up in the output of lsusb after plugging it in with the laptop already powered on.

The dell card (413c:8147) is detected.

I too am curious. I doubt the BIOS flash is socketed, but the programmer you indicated, the GQ-4X, appears to work with a ZIF socket. Could you please elaborate? I suppose you used an adapter.

Were you able to use a SOIC-8 test clip or did you actually have to desolder, program, and resolder the flash?

Hi friends,

Could you please remove WLAN whitelist from my BIOS?

Lenovo T530
BIOS version G4ETA2WW
Lenovo BIOS link: http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/...uj25us.exe

Results.rar: https://www.sendspace.com/file/4tnhdq
Original WLAN PCI ID: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0891&SUBSYS_42228086&REV_C4\4&265A3A94&0&00E1

Assistance is VERY much appreciated - please PM me your email address and I'll PayPal you a donation!

Thanks,
Hendre
