Yes. First time you reboot, you'll have to wait for Marvell controller to be automatically flashed to older firmware version.

One more quick question.

Is it possible to download the "unmodded 1601"?

ZioGTS, you might like to know that I re-flashed your s11 bios and then installed Windows on two new Samsung 840 Pro's in raid0 and after a few days I have noticed that the shutdown command now works properly. Not sure if it was the re-flash of bios or re-installing of windows that fixed it though as I did both at the same time.

System is super fast and smooth... I see no reason to spend any more money on another computer build until at least SATA Express or much lower energy consumption. Thanks again bud...

Thanks for the update! I also ran a few tests and confirm the issue must be related to a driver glitch. Latest versions seem to be immune, as you have experienced.

Have you heard any rumors or leaks of when/if we will ever see another OROM release, or is 12.7 the last one? I am starting to wonder if we are finally at the end of the road for updates on this aging system. lol

The best and most stable OROM and RST combination that is fully compatible
with our board is OROM 11.2.0.1527 and RST Driver 11.2.0.1006.

The newer OROMs and RST Drivers that have been released are only really
meant for the Intel 5 Series Chipset boards and higher.

Personally, I have went back to using the 11.2.0.x OROM+RST Drivers.

Intel Core i7 980X @ 3.33GHz @ OC 4.1GHz, Asus Rampage III Extreme, Noctua NH-D14, Corsair Dominator

sinders, do you have a new 1601 bios with all the newer modules, with 11.2 orom that you would be willing to share? I just tried 11.2 RST drivers a few days ago and saw zero difference myself, but I was still on 12.8 orom. Maybe I should also try 11.2 orom.

My board seemed to be less stable when I was on the 10 and 11 series drivers. It did not become fully stable until 12 series came along. At least that is how I remember it.
