[Request] hp compaq presario cq57 339wm unlock settings for overclock

You need to bypass the flash descriptor to allow read/write access to all regions on the bios chip. On HP computers, you can do this by holding down win+left+right then turn your computer on.

I searched for 'System Configuration' because one of the tabs in my setup utility has that name. If your setup utility doesn't have a tab with this name, then you'll have to search for something else.

is there a me firmware region responsible for overclocking cuz maybe this site can help???? http://forum.techinferno.com/general-not...ptops.html
hey i tried to use fptw64 -d image but it fails or am i typing the command wrong? update:apparently i have to place some parameters on fparts.txt for fptw64 to work but i dont know what to look for.......

update: i sucessfully dumped full image with fptw64 -d output.bin it is about 4096kb i linked it on first post...the guy said check the clock source select under FCIM/BTM specific ICC registers to see that the laptop uses the pll built into the pch...[request]can anyone help me mod it to be able to overclock with intel xtu?(i used the intel 7 series fptw64 tool the other didnt work) i also dumped the me and bios separately and linked them.

Modify the Intel ME firmware region of the chip is extreamly dangerous. The recovery procedure only overwrites the bios region of the chip, so any incorrect changes will require an external programmer to restore the chip. To preform this kind of recover, you'd need to use an external programmer to create a dump of the unmodified chip so that it can be restored later.

Overclocking laptop cpus is also extreamly dangerous. There's very poor ventalation and heat distribution as it is. The reason manufacuters lock these kind of settings is to protect the user. I also don't want you to damage your laptop, so I'm not going to help you proceed. I hope you understand. If your still set on achieving this goal, then read the manual that comes with fptw. Good luck.
