'Action Keys Mode' under 'System Configuration' should change fn-keys behaviour.
This model may have some issues with mute/wifi keys and lights, even with original BIOS.
felipejfc, I tried booting from a Windows 8 installation USB in EFI that works on my EFI-capable Toshiba Z935, but it didn't work, just said "Remove disks or other media, Press any key to restart." Maybe there is something else that can be changed in the BIOS that will enable non HP-signed UEFI functionality, or disable secure boot?
Thanks, Tom

Yep this one works for the 6250. The wifi FN key light is on at bootup and the card is detected in windows.
Thanks again.

My 7260 arrived today and the laptop won't boot Wireless module unsupported. It says "WLAN Module ID (0702)" in the bios, 0702 is just an error code. I'm going to put it in my other laptop to get the device hardware id.
edit: It should be: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_08B1&SUBSYS_40708086 but have to check in other laptop

The 7260 has hardware id:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_08B1&SUBSYS_40708086&REV_73
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_08B1&SUBSYS_40708086
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_08B1&CC_028000

Virtualisation is disabled in the BIOS and you can't change the settings - it just resets them. I use this laptop occasionally for VMs.
virtualbox says "VT-x is disabled in the BIOS"
Your bioses are better because I can thermally throttle the CPU and enable VT-x, if you're unable to remove or change the whitelist then I will stick with the 6250, thanks for trying.

This bios (GENERAL_4) crashes when the system configuration tab is selected - I suppose this is where the boot options are. GENERAL_3 doesn't crash on that tab.

Wow I never noticed this setting before, this has had me confused for ages! Thanks for this.
The other one that I hate is the double tap on the orange light on the synaptics pad to activate it, I had to write myself a note and stick it to my laptop so I remember what to do when I accidentally turn my synaptics pad off.

Yeah, unfortunately it hangs there for me too.
Wifi working again now though.

I searched everywhere in the BIOS for secure boot but found nothing,
@BDMaster, can you give me a hand here? Their BIOS allow only signed UEFI boot, but in BIOS I found nothing related to secure boot...
