C-States OFF - Crashes my computer Why ?
#1
Hi,

So I have a huge problem for months, which was fps drops while gaming, those were very huge, and I've found that recently that Intel system  (C-state) is scaling down my clocks, which makes my fps to drop.

And i finally figured out how to make it stop, by turning OFF my C-state in Bios (I have a flashed advanced menus bios),

So i turned it Off and no more drops, the gaming was perfect.

But now I got some random computer shut downs, no blue screen, the computer is just turning itself OFF in the middle of the game

I checked event viewer, and it says that before the crash

-- Crash here -- The previous system shutdown at 17:52:02 on ‎05/‎12/‎2014 was unexpected.

C-States NEED to be on for the function to work properly. If you need to, only enable C0 so that it doesn't go into the other sleeps states. That should fix your problem. You can do this through a program called Throttlestop as well.

Thanks. I downloaded Throttlestop, but i'm not quite sure how to make this "work"

There should be a button that says "C3" or something close to it. Click that, and set the Package C State Limit to C0. Then click the "Turn On" button.

Hey,

Are we talking about this window ?

Should I uncheck all the C- State Demotions ?

And the Package Limite (C6r) is grayed out i can't do anything with it
