Update ASUS M11AA Bricked bios. Need help.
#1
Hi. I'm looking to know if there's an unlocked bios for my machine. I'm currently saving for a GTX970 and I have an i5 3340s 2.8-3.3ghz. I just want to know in case my cpu ends up bottlenecking in the future. If not I can just get a new motherboard aswell with the unlocked features.

System Model CM6330_CM6630_CM6730_CM6830_M11AA-8
BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 0507, 15/01/2013

Thanks in advance.

EDIT:

I just went onto ASUS website and 0507 was the only bios so I went to cm6630 instead and flashed it and now it says this

BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 0904, 08/01/2014

system model is still the same.

so I'm up to 0904 now and that mean's any unlocked cm6630 version should work if there's such thing.

another edit (rather than double posting)

I rolled back to 0507 because it messed up my realtek hd audio drivers and it was playing so loud that the green bar on windows on the volume meter was filling to the top instead of just over halfway while playing music. Surely something else could be done about that anyway by using an older audio driver or something on the newer bios I don't mind it too much if I can get an unlocked bios to unlock the extra features.

OK so after 2 days of searching I found zenmoddingtools and AFUDOS and how to use them. I changed all the settings in advanced to user and some ai tweak ones aswell but when I flash the bios (using /GAN otherwise it says security verification failed) it says it flashed successfully and none of the unlocked menus show, then if i dump the bios again from the board the settings are back on default. Not sure if there's something I'm missing.

By the way my bios file is called P8H61-M-PRO-ASUS-CM6630-8-0507 if it helps.

Hi friend,
probably your Eeprom chip is Write Protect !
use this tool run It as Admin and upload the result file :

http://rghost.net/58219938

let me know
Regards

P.S. It will work only on Intel CPU so if You get an AMD consider null this one !

Thanks for the help.

I ran that update from DOS on a USB stick and there's a lot of extra features unlocked in the bios. I don't see any OC features unless maybe I'm just missing something but at least now I'm getting somewhere.

EDIT: AI Tweaker isn't showing for some reason that's why.

Thanks. I don't mind buying a new board if I have to I'm using a micro-ATX in a full ATX case anyway (I don't mind that because I mainly only use a graphics and wifi card on PCI) but I'll only need it if my CPU starts to become a bottleneck.

I have a question about my uncles PC I'll just post here instead of making another thread. He has an old Packard Bell imedia x2416 with a Q8200 2.33ghz CPU and 4GB of DDR2. I put in an R7770 GPU for him for some lite gaming but trying out splinter cell blacklist it runs terrible even on low and has 100% CPU usage and like 25-35 GPU usage. Basically the CPU is a bottleneck and I was wondering could it be overclocked (for now until he has money to build a better one).

Unfortunately the model has obviously been discontinued and there's no support or anything for it but here's all I could find.

the board model : MCP73PVT-PM
AMI BIOS : PBDV11.P04

I'm going to just assume there's probably nothing that can be done without getting a different motherboard but I've been searching around looking at different bios versions and am afraid to just try flashing another BIOS in case it's the wrong one altogether and I'm not sure if mod tools would work on it. I have dumped a copy of the BIOS just in case.

Hi. I know this is an old post and I'm sorry to bring it back up but I still have the same motherboard P8H61-M PRO and managed to brick my bios and have no boot or video (I know I should've left it alone). I'm currently trying hotswapping the bios chip into my brothers computer and flashing it successfully in afudos with /p /b /k /n /x

However when I try it in my computer I still get no boot. If I dump the currently flashed bios and open it in uefitool it says invalid uefi image that it's past the end of the write area or something and only shows the top 2 or 3 headings like it's only half the bios. My OEM bios is 8192kb but the bios for the non OEM is 4096kb. I have a backed up bios too. Is there any way to get my computer up running again or am I out of luck?

Thanks in advance

Ps: I didn't know whether to open a new thread or where else to ask for help.

Edit: the uefitool error is : parseBios: one of volumes inside overlaps the end of data

Also fpt is saying error 25 the host cpu does not have write access and only lets me use -bios which is 2.5mb whereas my backed up bios is 6mb and the cap file is 8mb
