I get "Error 28: Protected Range Registers are currently set by BIOS, preventing flash access. Please contact the target system BIOS vendor for an option to disable Protected Range Registers." I also tried running prr.exe separately and then flashing the bios, but still no luck. Is there anything else I could do? However, I donated. Ciao!

I get this error when I run InsydeFlash.exe: "IHISI: Get support mode error in SMI! SMI Return Code: 0xEF."

I have also tried flashing the latest BIOS again, with the utility that can be downloaded from the Lenovo support site here: http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobi...7ww_64.exe and I get this error http://oi61.tinypic.com/1zg6pvq.jpg and after that I have access to the ExtractTemp folder as you can see here http://oi59.tinypic.com/2l9454y.jpg . This one seems to have access to write the bios. Is there a possibility to modify the 62CN97WW.cap file and trick the program into thinking it's a newer version of BIOS so that it will write it?

Or maybe this could work? https://www.bios-mods.com/bios-recovery/...-recovery/

Thanks a lot!

I sent a modified Platform.ini one 96 ver ?!?!
You used original and You got error !!!
You have to modify that file into InsydeFlash folder . . .
 Unpack the bios .exe file sing WinRar ver 5.20 or above and find Platform.ini file
then open It using an Txt editor and edit It here :

[Bios_Version_Check]
Flag=2
CheckByBios=0
CheckByBiosErrorMessage="This BIOS file is not allow to flash. The flash process will be terminated."
;This flag is the switch of checking BIOS version.
;Flag              default : 2.
;                        0 : Don't check rom file version.
;                        1 : Check BIOS version.
;                            When rom file version is older then BIOS, it will display
;                              a warning message and close application.
;                        2 : Depend on BIOS report.
;CheckByBios       default : 0.
;                        0 : Normal process.
;                        1 : It will pass version by IHISI 45h to BIOS and check by BIOS.
;                            When BIOS return not allow to flash, it will be terminated the process.
;                            When BIOS allow to flash, it will go ahead and do it's normal process.
;                            When this flag is enable but BIOS not support, it will skip version check and assume allow to flash.
;CheckByBiosErrorMessage
;                  default : "This BIOS file is not allow to flash. The flash process will be terminated."
;                   String : User defined error message when BIOS is not allow to flash this version image.

Change Flag=2 to Flag=0   then save and retry to flash Bios using InsydeFlash tool !
