Request:HP 786H1 V01.13 Intel Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA upgrade

Hi all

I was wondering if you could help. I need to upgrade the:
Intel® Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA RAID Controller so that it supports drives larger than 2tb. However, HP in their infinite wisdom have not bothered to upgrade the raid controller. Probably because they want you to buy the newer pc.

I want to put the Intel RAID ROM v12.9.0.2006 on it instead of the 9.5 that it comes with, however i can not for the life of me find an app to mod this.

Im pretty sure I have an Intel® 5 Series/3400 Series SATA AHCI Controller.

The file comes in a .cab file which extracts to a .bin file. I'm just having 0 luck with it. I've attached it here as a zip:

I've also tried an ibm perc 5i card, however it causes a memory issue whereby it only accepts 50% of the memory installed so is not viable.

I've never rom modded in my life so this may get interesting but any help would be amazing!
