Hello,i am new here, and i have an older notebook that turns on the fan on 55C,thats not bad,but the problem is that the CPU fan trigger the GPU fan,and so my GPU on idle reaches 70-75C,becouse the CPU has no need to cool down.I have surfed the whole web for a solution with no luck.I think that the fan is controlled by the BIOS and there is set a value that triggers the fan,in my case it is 55C.I tried to open the bios.rom is a hex editor and searched for the value 55 or 37 in hex,but there are more that one same value. So if anyone have a idea, how to change the value that triggers the fan, feel free to talk about it.Sorry for my English!

Thx for extracting that for me as it prevents problems after modding for the requester. But I have bad news there is no way to change fan settings as there are no options that are hidden to be toggled as visible. I had an acer with this same problem. just a suggestion baby that laptop. As that is a sure sign the vendor has built it to fail a a specific time. My Acer literally died one month after the warranty. I wish there was more we can do. Have you tried a program called "fan speed" as that might be your last shot at solving your problem. with my acer there was no way to change the fan speeds in any way as it was controlled by the throttle of the cpu. which imho is a scary thought as when your system was on and clocked down to it's lowest speed the fan would only run every 5-10min for a minute or so. the only thing
I could do was use a cpu throttle app to keep the cpu clocked at max speed all the time. it wouldn't make the fan run at full speed but at least the proper speed to keep the cpu with in cooling limits.

You must unpack it with PowerISO or similiar software, because this is a bootable Floppy image for update, anyway i attached the extracted file.

Thanks for your effort, speedfan is not working on my laptop,i think the best way is to solder the fans + and - directly on the motherboards power supply. So the CPU fan uses the trigger zone, but the GPU fan runs always on 100%.When i'm done i post a tutorial with pictures.

that's a great approach i would recommend that you order a spare replacement fan. another thought some 3 wire fans can be jumped to disable the sensor wire and force to speed. but you will have to look that up by part number or electronics specs
