[REQUEST] Acer Aspire E5-571(G) BIOS unlock
#11
Hi ,
I have been trying to find a solution . I just got this new laptop and I wanted to use emulator which needs to enable the VT-x but I just couldn't find it in the Bios , it is not there . i5-4210U supports VT-x but how could I use it if I can't enable it ? Can anybody help me ?
I linked the update that I used to fix this problem , but the bios hasn't changed .
v1.24.

Ok friend,
these are locks :

014A7 : 0F 84 D5 00 00 00 to 0F 84 00 00 00 00 jz loc_180001582 to jz $+6  ; Power
014DB : 0F 84 A1 00 00 00 to 0F 84 00 00 00 00 jz loc_180001582 to jz $+6  ; Advanced

But your Eeprom is Write Protect (error 280 !!!) so only using an HW SPI PGM You can
re-write your Bios Mod !
Look here :

https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...5#pid74575

Actualy We cannot resign Bios not Original to reflash as normal !
If do you want to buy ot get SPIPGM I can help to do this job !
Let me know

Thank you for everything my brother but I'll probably take it back to the acer shop and ask them like what to do , because I have 24 months guarantee on it and hopefully they will solve the problem since my processor supports VT-x and it dosen't make any sense to hide this option away from me , because I only want to use it for emulators to create programs .
Thank you for everything again !
Best regards!

Hi, I would like help unlocking the Advanced and Power tabs in my Acer Aspire BIOS. I wanted to try to do it myself but I wasn't able to find the jump points using IDA. Using Andy's tool I was able to find the tabs in SetupUtility GUID 'FE3542FE-C1D3-4EF8-657C-8048606FF670_1490' and donovan6000's Universal IFR Extractor found the tab locations. After messing around for a few hours I figured it's time to get help from the pros. I have a HW SPI Programmer if needed.

Laptop: Acer Aspire E15 E5-571P-59QA
Acer BIOS version 1.24 BIOS_Acer_1.24_A_A.zip
Backup_Tools results.rar

Output from donovan6000's Universal IFR Extractor

Hello

Could someone unlock my UEFI-BIOS, I need VT-X for a Virtual Machine, but there is no option to activate it in the BIOS and it's deactivated by default. My CPU supports VT-X, I have a Intel i5 4210U in my Laptop.

This is the link to the BIOS which I hope to get unlocked for activating the VT-x feature. http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/...&SC=EMEA_5

Thank you.

Hello, friend!
How did you have known about vt-x supporting?
I found two VT options in your Bios only.It are Intel (VMX) Virtualization Technology (as default enabled) and vt-d (as default enabled). The vendor not added vt-x supporting in this laptop may be.
I cannot find VT-x option in your Bios.
