Can you post updates without the slic mod ? as I have

I don`t think the slic mod will do any harm even with your
own bought copy of windows thought I might be wrong.

I am not sure on this though but it might do if it is a OEM
version of windows, not a retail boxed version.

Does anybody know if switching between a bios that
has the slic mod and one without It will affect
your windows activation?

Intel Core i7 980X @ 3.33GHz @ OC 4.1GHz, Asus Rampage III Extreme, Noctua NH-D14, Corsair Dominator
GT 6GB DDR3, BeQuiet 1200W PSU, Coolermaster RC-1100 Cosmos S, Gigabyte GeForce GTX 580 OC, Creative

I have used this slic modded bios for a year now and it has not done any damage to any of my purchased Operating systems. Having slic in your bios is not illegal as far as I know.

without the slic mod? , lmfao , somebody is truly falsely informed about what slic is so it would seem ,first off its NOT illegal, several legal bought w7 copys for all pcs here , no issues with slic and i myself again havent heard of slic 2.1 being illicit how could it be makes no sense all oem builders use it as well and its freely available unless ive missed something, you still need a license key even with oem windows versions understand , hence you require a purchased license key usually comes as a coa sticker that you attach to the pc ,

again this is farthest from illegal as possible, ive always counted on ziogts and the crews rampage III bios mods as theyre rock solid and no issues ever surfaced not to mention giving that extra bit of performance improvements over older bios modules and allowing us to enjoy this great motherboard for several years to come until replaced , if theres slic 2.1 or not shouldnt be of any concern to anybody , since either you have your seperate purchased OS with license key in form of a license sticker stuck to a orange cardboard piece in the plastic dvd case , or a seperate purchased license oem coa sticker that you can attach to the pc if you wish, dont know if windows 8 is different i cant comment on that one as i dont see windows 8 as an OS in my eyes sorry, i hope this helps

heres a more explicit explanation>

System-Locked Pre-installation (SLP) is the mechanism used by big royalty OEM computer manufacturers to factory activate pre-installed Windows operating system on branded desktop PC, laptop, notebook, netbook and nettop computer so that activation process of Windows is done transparently and automatically once end-user first starts the computer. The offline OEM-style pre-activation that bypass Windows Product Activatin (WPA) is implemented to reduce the chance of annoying mass PC buyers from having to deal with activation after buying the computer.

so again if your not exactly running a windows 7 version iso , as the iso is freely downloadable , without a license key , youre not doing anything wrong, good day

Thanks Breakdown234 for the exhaustive explanation. Slic mod won't harm your standard licence. It could break an OEM licence in case you bought an OEM system which included Rampage III Extreme mobo with custom bios made by the system builder. AFAIK nobody ever built such a system for mass distribution, so there's no chance you could have any issue. Therefore, no versions without slic will be provided.

Hey guys, can I get some feedback on 1601_S11 release? Both Intel raid and network modules have been updated and I'd like to know if anybody's having issues or strange behavior. Thanks in advance!

Yeah the issue I am having is the best most stable performance to date. All my raided ssd's feel like super fast single drives and never a error in sight. Thanks again for this issue lol...

Hello friend!
I updated to 1601_S11 release. The differences are not seen. It's okay?
find

Well, an update should always bring equal or better performance, or additional features. If you don't see differences, you're OK!
