[REQUEST] Thinkpad X1 Extreme Gen 2 Whitelist removal
#1
Hello,

I need some help to remove the Wi-Fi whitelist of my Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme 2nd Gen.

BIOS download from Lenovo website: https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/n2ouj28w.exe
BIOS dump from my machine by CH341a_SPI programmer:
.zip   x1e_gen2_bios_1.46_orig.zip (Size: 14.67 MB / Downloads: 11)

The original Wi-Fi card in the machine is Intel AX200, with below IDs.
Wi-Fi: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2723&SUBSYS_00808086
Bluetooth: USB\VID_8087&PID_0029

The error message was as below with other Wi-Fi card.
1802: Unauthorized network card is plugged in - Power off and remove the network card ().

I had some attempts by myself, but the machine didn't boot, it was with a black screen and beeping.

I am fully aware of RSA sign related risk.
Please help and really appreciated!

Thank you!

Hi
Your dump contains two copies of the bios, the main and the backup
this scheme is used in new top models of Lenovo Thinkpad laptops(upper price segment)
if you modify any copy of the bios, the first time you turn it on, it automatically restores from the unmodified copy
if you modify two copies of the bios, the laptop does not turn on
Lenovo Thinkpad laptops use advanced TPM chip security features
therefore, at this point in time I have not found a solution to this problem
