Hello everyone,
I've been reading a lot online about the chipset of my GX520 being technically able to support Core 2 Duos, but it is not allowed by Dell. However besides the Processor restriction (and some issues with memory mapping) I love my machine. Also cash is tight right now and I can't afford to buy another one that can outbeat what I've done to it so far. So any support with getting the bios to take a Core 2 Duo would be great!
I would please like the micro codes for the Core 2 Duo E4300 (06F2) (06FD), Core 2 Duo E6300 (06F6), Core 2 Duo E4700 (06FB), Core 2 Duo E6700 (06F6) to be added.
I have included the micro codes in the parentheses above.
I already have an E4300 and E6300 laying around but might get an E4700 or E6700 in the future.
The current CPU is a Pentium 4 521 so I would prefer if the micro code for that could be kept also.
Here is the link: http://downloads.dell.com/bios/A11GX620.EXE
If any other information on my machine is needed, please let me know.
Thank You so much, any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am also interested in doing the similar thing to a GX620..
I am trying to insert the cpucode into the BIOS, but it appears to be a DELL/PHOENIX BIOS , and is not letting me. (locked..?)
System: DELL GX620
CPU to Add: E4300 SL9TB ; CPUID: 06F2h with L2 Stepping.
BIOS files and CPU Code are here:

Hi~~im1992
About your gx520 with micro code modify,i have tried out to inject 06f2 micro code into bios.
However, i can't 100% sure if it can boot e4300 on your machine.
If you wanna to test it at your risk, you can download it here.

It is a type of dell's HDR file,so if you want to flash it,you need to go to dell's offical website and download "Dell Client Configuration Utility".
This utility can packaged HDR file to build a exe file that can to auto flash bios after a few seconds.
Good luck.

Dear Feng,
First of all, thank you SOOO much for taking the time to do this for me. I am much obliged and I really appreciate your hard work.
I just tried getting the Dell Client COnfiguration Utility to run on my laptop but it did not install. Do I need to install this utility on a Dell computer? And also, if it can be run on any machine or if you have a Dell, can you please compile the .exe file for me? I would be happy to try it but I am just having issues trying to build the .exe
Thank You,
im1992
EDIT: My apologies, the full microcode is 06F2h. Can you please edit the BIOS once again with the full microcode? I am sorry I left the "h" out in my original post, I must have been extremely tired (1AM).

Dear Feng,
When trying to run the DCCU_3.1, I get the error "Unable to create or write the output file, access is denied". Am I required to run DCCU on a Dell computer?
Also, the full microcode is 06F2h. Does it matter if the "h" at the end is present or is there no difference between microcode "06F2" and "06F2h". My apologies for leaving the "h" out in my original post, I was extremely tired and didn't pay attention.
Thank You,

It didn't need to builded on a dell's machine.
My system is windows7 x64 on msi's mainboard and i can install this tool and run it.
This is bios update that i build it on my machine.

It will reboot after one minute and update bios automatically.

Thank you Feng!
One more question, is there any difference between microcode "06F2" and "06F2h"? Or will the "06f2" be enough for the CPU to boot up?
I will try it as soon as I get confirmation from you.
I really appreciate the time and effort you have spent to help me.
Thank you so much, im1992
