Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller - Bios : v1.0.0.1033*
Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller - Firmware: v2.2.0.1125*
Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller - Bootloader: v1.0.1.0002b*
JMicron JMB36X Controller: v1.07.28
Intel® 82567V-2 Gigabit Network: v1.5.13
SLIC 2.1: ASUS (SSV3/MMtool method)

*: I rebuilt all Marvell 9123/8 modules from scratch, starting from the code included in "Firmware pour MV-91xx Version 2.2.0.1125b", posted on station-drivers.com under Marvell section on 06/06/12.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You are strongly advised to download and install Intel RST software v13.5.0.1056 and Marvell 91xx driver v1.2.0.1041 to match new controller firmware routines.

DISCLAIMER: ZioMod bios is provided "as is". Flash it at your own risk! I won't be responsible for any damage to your motherboard, PC or sudden decrease in your sexual performance... Wink
If you try it, please let me know if you encounter any issue, expecially with our "tricky" Marvell controller.

Thanks ZioGTS for the heads up.

I take it you managed somehow to split the Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller bios/firmware into the three parts needed
(20, E6 and E7) for integrating into the Rampage III Extreme 1502 BIOS with AMI MMTOOL V3.22 BKMOD?

Have you enabled the Marvell Controller with this upgraded bios/firmware to see whether the controller actually still works
(Marvell BIOS screen etc loads as normal and shows the correct bios/firmware version) and things attached to that controller
(Hard Drive etc ) seem to work as normal?

Unfortunately I don't have a spare drive to test the Marvell controller now. My brand new Samsung 830 will be here next week, and I'll surely post my results.
Instead of splitting the image found in the last package on Station Drivers, I built a new E7 firmware image myself, using the included imgcreate.exe. I modified the config.txt.fw build file taking out modules that are already included in E6 and 20 (bootloader and option rom). Bios is ready for use, 9123b.bin already contains what's needed. When I flashed and rebooted, the system detected the new firmware and updated the controller succesfully. Magni tool correctly detects version numbers, as you can see below. I need somebody to test this and report success/failure, can you help?

Did you actually integrate all that was needed from the Marvell (BIOS) v1.0.0.1033 / (FW) v2.2.0.1125 into
the Rampage III Extreme 1502 BIOS or did you just flash the Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller with the last
bios/firmware package on Station Drivers using the Marvell flash tools?

I will give your BIOS a test soon and report back.

Everything's integrated in bios, of course! I don't think it's possible to flash the controller directly anyway. I borrowed a portable eSata drive and connected it succesfully to Marvell port 0... and it works! CTRL-M opens the bios config screen as expected, and bios/firmware version shown is 1.0.0.1033/2.2.0.1125...wow! Cool

I just gave a test with your BIOS with the Marvell Controller + new bios/firmware
using a normal Hard Drive and it seems to be working without problems.

Thanks a lot ZioGTS for your BIOS mod.

To properly test the Marvell Controller and the new bios/firmware, you will
need to connect a SSD Drive for test for proper 100% confirmation that the
new bios/firmware is working fully on our board.

I don't have a spare SSD Drive for test.

Could you please give your BIOS with new Marvell Controller bios/firmware a
proper test when you get your Samsung 830 and report back?

It would be great if you or somebody else could report back there performance
and etc results with this new bios/firmware compared to the older bios/firmware
for the Marvell Controller.

If anybody else gives ZioGTS BIOS mod a test, please report back if the Marvell
Controller with new bios/firmware is working 100% fully with SSD Drives.

ZioGTS, You seem to know a lot more and have more experience about BIOS modding than I do.

I don`t have a clue how to make the Marvell controller bios/firmwares in
their original current form compatible with our board.

I can integrate them easily enough if they are have already been split into
our board compatible rom/bin file parts.

As soon as my SSD is here I will start testing and report back. If this bios passes all tests and proves to be fully reliable, I will post a detailed guide on how to build the option rom modules starting from the original firmware image from Marvell.

Just as a side note, in my tests I was also successful in installing Intel raid rom 11.5 and it was working fine.

Yes, I also tested before the Intel RAID ROM 11.5 and it's working perfectly on
our board though I decided to still use Intel RAID ROM 11.1.0.1413 for now
until Intel RAID ROM 11.5 and RST 11.5 beta software becomes final.

The best Intel RAID ROM and RST software combination for our board for
now is Intel RAID ROM 11.1.0.1413 and Intel RST software version
11.1.0.1006 or 11.0.5.1001.

I can't wait for you to report back with the results of the new Marvell
bios/firmware using a SSD Drive and check out the guide your going to
make and post on how to build the option rom modules for use on our
board myself starting from the original firmware image from Marvell.

I didn't actually flash your Rampage III Extreme 1502 BIOS mod on my
board because I don't need the SLIC 2.1 part and I have my own Retail
copy of Windows 7.

I only extracted the Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller bios/firmware files
from your bios and added them into my own 1502 BIOS mod.

I hope you don`t mind me only using your Marvell bios/firmware files?

I have no doubt, your BIOS mod will be fully working because it contains the
exact same as my BIOS but with the SLIC mod and newer Marvell 91xx SATA
6G Controller bios/firmware version.

Dear Zio, will be super, when you post tutorial how-to mod bios with options roms and where to get them. My HW is similar as yours. ASUS P7P55D-E LX, Intel 10R, Marvell 9123 controller, Realtek 8112L lan, JMicron 360. I will be much thankfull for this.
