[REQUEST] Sony VAIO VPCS13 Series (R2100Q3) BIOS Unlock
#1
Hello,

I have a Sony VPCS13C5E and I want to boot from efi but Sony has disabled it. Can you try to enable efi boot and some hidden setup menu lke advanced or debug?
Here is bios download: ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/pub/VAIO/UPDATES...229946.EXE
It's 2100Q3 version.
It seems it's for all VPCS13 model so I won't be alone to use it.
Ask me if you need some screenshot.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I've done it myself!
I have added references in advanced form for:
-IDE configuration: for AHCI and other stuff
-USB configuration for USB legacy boot
-CHIPSET configuration for Vt-d

I have also added modules for EFI boot and unlocked settings in boot form, but there is no EFI boot manager, it will boot in EFI mode if it find EFI partition or an EFI boot disk.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/68430966/bios/R2...I_BOOT.zip

Unzip and launch InsydeFlash.exe.

ps: maybe mods can move this post in unlocked insyde bios section

Hey,

Is there a way to enable the hidden EFI feature AND integrate an EFI boot manager into this BIOS?
Here's the new link to the BIOS, since the old site 404'd: InsydeR2100Q3

Hi,
could anyone be so kind as to activate all hidden functions of my BIOS? This is also the same BIOS, that all VAIO VPCS-Series model use, so I won't be the only one who benefits from it Smile
You can get the latest BIOS here.

Also, it would be awesome if theres any way to activate the EFI and to provide an EFI boot manager.

Here you go!

EDIT:
I just found out the BACKUP_Tools.exe does not work properly, even though I run it as admin. It throws these error messages (content of info.txt):
Quote:C:\Users\fmr\Desktop
architecture =

Also, the info file does not state an architecture at all, the screenshots say its 32bit, but my laptop really is 64bit.

Can anyone help me out? Huh
Is this a software bug or a mistake of mine? Am I doing something wrong?

Is it too early for a bump? I've dissambled the BACKUP_Tools.exe and edited the START.BAT script so it would automatically assume it's running on a 64bit system, but I still get these platform errors.

I don think as in first Pic You can see x32 as this Batch tool look for plaftorm x32 or x64 and save all !
This error 201 is almost times generated by two factors :

1. AMD CPU so FPT is an Intel tool and doesn't work on AMD
2. Eprom Chip Definition unknown (your Eeprom Chip is not prsent into fparts.txt)

So let me know

It worked fine but only activated HDC and ASPM features and has a littel graphics bug:

I know, theres more to unlock. I've already tried the one from HERE but unfortunetely this BIOS messes up the boot device priorities.
