F750US + AMD Turion Ultra

I've come across a neat little Turion Ultra that matches the CPU socket in my Compaq Presario F750. I tried plopping the sucker in there and no good. The screen stays black, no sounds or anything.

I'm hoping the reason for incompatibility is simply lack of support from within the BIOS. Most laptop manufacturers don't expect people to swap CPUs, so it's not surprising this didn't work and I'm guessing that this upgrade can be possible with a modded Bios.

Since I have no clue what I'm doing and although I might be able to figure it out sooner or later, I'd rather learn this stuff when I have a disposable computer to mess with.

So I'm asking you guys for some assistance.
