HP A8AE-LE v3.15
#41
i have since my last post created a 98 boot disc on usb, and tried using phlash and phlash1614 with the command

"phlash bios.wph"
"ph1614 bios.wph"

and am getting error "platform signature not found in the interface.

I am using the file found on page 2 postsed by 1234, renamed the 315.rom file to bios.wph

tried the replace method while inside windows. nothing seems t work. any help is appreciated.

also my cpuid is reading it as a phoenix bios ver 3.15 dated 1/25/2007 i know it is a stock bios still as i have no options, all im trying to do is get this modified bios on to get rid of the sleep and wake from s3 issue with win7 and possibly turn off the sys fan warning (i know my fan is working i see it and have tried several fans nothing under 1k rpm's will shut off this warning...
..although any opened OC options are definately a plus ;-)

On my old HP system with this board, pressing F11 at boot takes you to a special bios screen where you can turn fan warnings off and on, as well as a few other options.

Hello, I know this is an old thread, but I have an HP with this board and I downloaded "HP A8AE-LE 3.15 Unlocked HP SLIC 2.1 By 1234s282.zip" and flashed my pc several times, using awdflash and winflash, but every time I check the slic with the slictool it says "dump error. slic table not found". If this bios is slic 2.1 then why does the slictool tell me that after a successful flash? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I know this is an old thread, but I have an HP with this board A8AE-LE with Bios string 01/25/2007-RS482-SB400-Amberine-00, Phoneix - Award v6.00PG

I was so happy to find out in this forum the fact it existing an unlocked Phoenix bios for ver 3.15.
I have tried all the link for download, but no one it's working anymore.
Is there any chance to have for download again this unlocked bios?

Thanks in advance.

Thread Necromancer to the rescue! I have this board, and after hours of research and tinkering, I found a few modded bios'es and the easiest way for someone that is not a super techno freak to flash. The modded bios'es are on this site, but kind of hiding. I believe I found them by doing a site search, they came up at like the third fourth and fifth results. There are three, I've flashed all three and they all work, the first was kinds sloppy layout wise, the second cleaned up, the third more cleaned up and a few more features. Not sure about the RAID option though. I see that someone mentioned it above and since it was never mentioned again, I guess I'll attempt it, if the modded bios I used doesn't have it, as this particular board is expendable to me. I'll find them again if someone needs them. Also, the best way I have found to flash is to do the old switcheroo trick, namely, using HP's own utility that upgrades your bios in Window$, and on the last step before actually flashing, find the temp directory the files have been extracted to, on mine its c:\documents and settings\(your user name)\local settings\temp\(now you have to browse, mine was a few letters and numbers that changed every time the HP utility was opened) and then copy and paste modded bios into the folder, making sure the name is the same as what you are replacing. I have done this several times on XP and Vista. If anyone is still looking, I'll monitor this thread for a month or two to share my knowledge on this topic. Heck, it's the only reason I signed up, because of this board!

EDIT: Found the ones on this site www.bios-mods.com/BIOS/index.php?dir=Award%2FHP%2F

See above by me. That is the same board I have, possibly earlier revision, but the ones in the link should work. See how I flashed too, as it is kind of a pain
