Thanks for fast response. Before I attempted to flash the modified BIOS, I checked and performed file compare using FC command with the modified and original .FD files that you provided. I noticed that modified .FD files same as the original ie same binary and same time stamp.

Please check and advice.

Thank you.Smile

I used FlashIt to flash the modd BIOS and FAIL. After the BIOS was flashed, the notebook just die (blank screen). I performed the bad flash recovery to recover it back with original BIOS using Windows key + B method.
http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showpost.php?p=146114&postcount=1500

Since I am confident I can recover if anything go bad. I used other modd BIOS which similar to my notebook which I downloaded from:
http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showpost.php?p=151527&postcount=1619
and it just works. I renamed 30F3F2C.FD to other filename as to prevent from loading incorrect BIOS file. I executed InsydeFlash64.exe and the modd bios flashed successfully.

After reboot the machine, the system boots to my Vista Ultimate x64 (HP OEM Vista ) as normal. No other problem encountered. I ran SLIC Dump ToolKit and Everest Ultimate to check, both show SLIC 2.1 Big Grin

Later, I reformat my harddrive and install Windows 7 Professional OEM and then applying HP cert and product key, Voila !!! It activated flawlessly......Thanks

I would probably install Windows 7 shortly, but since SLIC 2.1 is installed, I think activating Windows 7 OEM should not be a problem.

I didn't rename the file and it installed the wrong bios. Can u explain me how to repair it?

Thanks in advance, Noltari.

-get the proper .FD file for your notebook, rename it to the first 4 digits and .BIN (ie: 30F3F2C.FD would become 30F3.BIN)
-put newly named bin file on a fat16 or fat32 USB stick, plug it in the notebook
-unplug notebook
-remove battery
-unit should be off, press and hold windows key and B
-plug in AC power while holding those buttons
-turn on notebook, let go of all buttons once LED lights come on
-the notebook will beep every second, as it searches for the .bin file
-if its filename matches your systems motherboard code, it will flash, and reboot
-all is fixed

PS: Sorry if this was mentioned in other forum areas, it saved my *ss today.
