HP MCP61PM-HM (Nettle2) 5.27 With Unlocked Overclocking Options
Hi TheWiz,

I still have some question for the Recovery, my PC can boot from floppy? due to can't select the boot menu and will auto power off, or I need to change another CPU to do this method? and my motherboard is lite version, only 2 ram slot and 2 SATA port, like this http://www.shuma5120.com/186597.htm that have a problem to recovery the bios?

I need this two files? http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1525839/awdflash.EXE + http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1525839/Bios/M613Z_19.BIN

and which command saved in autoexec.bat?
==============================
@ECHO OFF
@AWDFLASH M613Z_19.BIN /cc /py /sn /r
============================
@ECHO OFF
@awdflash M613Z_19.BIN /py /sn /cc / cd /cp /wb /r
===================================
Thanks

Hi fai_9394,

It seems your board is the Iris8 variation of the motherboard, but it will still work fine. You should be fine to try to force a recovery without changing the CPU, although if you have another CPU you can swap it might make it easier for you.

I would try the second batch file, but either will work well. In any event, if the BIOS still halts you from flashing with that CPU you may have to either short the BIOS pins to force a bootblock BIOS recovery, or send the chip to us to reprogram if you cannot get another CPU after trying the recovery method. Chances are though bootblock recovery only works with a floppy, so if you dont have a floppy disk controller handy that may also be an issue. Rest assured that the worst case scenario is sending the chip to us for reprogramming if you live within the US.

Regards,
TheWiz

Thanks TheWiz,

How can I short the BIOS to force a bootblock BIOS recovery? Which Pin (jumper)?

this is my BIOS screen short.....

I only have floppy disk and driver. I am not live in the US and I cannot get another CPU

can someone tell me if I can upgrade my cpu with any of these bios. I overclock, but this cpu isnt much, its a amd 5600+ windsor http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K8/AMD-Ath...OX%29.html
Just want something like a quad core or maybe one of the am3 dual cores who knows just something better. Thanks.

@fai - Did you try shorting the two highest pins? (1 and 30) The checksum error will be produced on the two highest pins, but it's hard to tell with the PLCC chips which ones are needed.

therefore, try this:
http://www.mcumall.com/forum/uploaded/zl...C32-01.png

Look at the diagram farthest left. Try shorting pins 1 and 30 labelled in the leftmost diagram.

@omnomsis - We still don't have good quad core support for this board, 5600+ is the highest working CPU until I can get quad core support working.

Warm Regards,
TheWiz

Hi everybody,

I'm searching a way to overclock my computer (AMD proc). I thought it will be easy but when I tried to set the values in the BIOS, I saw there was no possibility, and that something was hidden or blocked.

I'm not an expert, and I read the way you explained.

But anyone could help me ?

I'm on W7, and I don't know if the procedure is the same.

Happy New Year! Wiz - Thanks a ton. Because of yall's work, I'm still using my Acer T180 that I bought in 2007 though you'd be hard pressed to recognize it. I've upgraded to a X2 BE-2400 45W cpu, Geforce GTS 450, 4gig RAM, SB X-Fi, larger case (obviously), Antec Earthwatts 380W PS, ATSC TV tuner card, Win7, etc., etc. - but I'm still using the mobo which is actually an ECS MCP61SM-AM. My question is - Will a Regor core chip work in this system? They're 3GHz+ dual core 65W AM3 chips and can be had pretty cheap from newegg. If not, what is the top of the line chip that I can use in this mobo? And again - THANKS!

Wiz - Have ya'll ever tried to do anything with the Gigabyte BIOS from a GA-M61SME-S2? I'm fairly certain it was their version of this common board. The last BIOS version had Agena and added Kuma core support.

Anyway, I'll attach the zipped executable file from their site and fiddle with the editor for the time being. I couldn't add the file for some reason? Here's the link to that board.

OR (though this is a 6100/430 setup)
