HP Pro 3300 & 3400 (H61): Upgrade to Ivy Bridge
#1
"Requirements for request:
-bios link
-whats happens: I.e. It doesn't boot / it shows an error (which? post a picture)
-screenshot from aida64>motherboard>cpuid
-CPU spec code"

I have a Hewlett-Packard Pavilion Slimline S5-1214 which came with a Intel Pentium G850, and currently runs a Intel CORE i7-2600K.

- I've installed the most current bios from their website (AMI 7.16A, 3/23/2012): http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp58001-58500/sp58264.exe

- when I install the Intel i7-3770K processor (Ivy Bridge proc which should work with H61 chip-set motherboards if the bios is current enough), it refuses to post... just turns the LED and fans on (i.e. the power-supply is ok).

- My current processor is an Intel CORE i7-2600K (95W Sandy Bridge) with CPU spec code (pic included with CPUID shot): 1C5C
The target processor (which won't post with my current BIOS) is an Intel i7-3770K (77W Ivy Bridge) with spec code SR0PL (http://www.cpu-world.com/sspec/SR/SR0PL.html).

Please help.

hello,i currently have a pentium g630 :http://ark.intel.com/products/53483/Intel-Pentium-Processor-G630-3M-Cache-2_70-GHz
and have the latest bios AMI 7.16 installed, and it doesnt seem to support 3rd gen lga 1155 processors as people say.

so i heard about this website and that it can add cpu support if i provided the bios.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp58001-58500/sp58264.exe

i wanted to buy a i3 3250 quad core for my HP pro 3400 but it doesnt seem to support it (bios wise)
other h61 motherboards support it after a bios update.
thx

Bad news! Your motherboard is H-Cupertino2-H61-uATX:1.02 with 4 Mbytes BIOS chip. I think you have H-Cupertino-H61-uATX:3.10 with 8 Mbytes BIOS chip.
Your motherboard can't boot CPUs with Ivy Bridge core. I can add microcodes for Ivy Bridge but I think it doesn't help.
You can buy i5-2300 with 4 real cores. it has the same price as i3-3250, but little faster.
Tell me please info from BIOS chip? Maybe it has 8 Mbytes size... I think it's this one:

And info from H61 chip too. May be you are lucky and your chip has useful revision. Or just post a screenshot of Mainboard tab of CPU-Z.

If you have useful revision of H61 and 8 Mbytes BIOS chip then you can try flash BIOS from HP pro 3500. It supports Ivy Bridge.
How much money you can spend for upgrade?
