Phoenix Bios unlocking
#1
Do you guys unlock Phoenix bios too?

I have a Dell Studio 1557 and it uses a Phoenix bios and I would love to be able to enable and disable Turbo and Hyper Threading on the Core i7.
Plus whatever else they might be hiding in there.

Latest bios is here http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R251715&SystemID=STUDIO1557&servicetag=&os=W764&osl=en&deviceid=19287&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=1&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=1&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&fileid=368004
That is for Windows though.
Here is the only one on their site for DOS http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R243027&SystemID=STUDIO1557&servicetag=&os=W764&osl=en&deviceid=19287&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=1&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=1&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&fileid=351569
The DOS version is the A02 but will take it Big Grin

Edit : Sorry I failed to mention this is a laptop.

As of now, we aren't 100 percent ready to mod Phoenix's as the knowledge for it is just coming out now. Try giving our moderator rjback a buzz, as he is the Phoenix mastermind.

Hi.

Don't suppose this guy managed to do the bios for the op?

I've got this Acer Aspire 7735G, crap all in the bios, no overclocking options or owt, I can't do software overclocking without knowing the PLL and I can't be bothered taking the mobo out I'd have to take the actual screen apart just to get in there!!!

Anyway, this is the bios for my lapp:

http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/BIOS/BIOS/BIOS_Acer_2.12_A_A.zip?acerid=633940442381864823&Step1=Notebook&Step2=Aspire&Step3=Aspire%207735G&OS=V10&LC=en&BC=Acer&SC=EMEA_27

Hopefully it's ok me posting in here. Don't know what can be done with bioses but if overclocking options could be enabled that'd be great. Shame my laptop aint very popular I might have had some hope already Sad

Thanks
Will.

Well, if it's a Pheonix we still can't help, but were hoping the knowledge base will be there soon.
