Hey guys.
Sorry that I have been gone for 4-5 years. I have completely forgot that this forum exists Sad
But now, its time to make things right for once and for all.

First thing is about BDMaster's release:

THE BIOS HE UPLOADED IS NOT WORTH A RE-UPLOAD!!!!
I have tried it out and there was no changes compared to stock at all. Nada. Null.
Unforunately, I may have lost his bios file so I can't re-uploaded for you all to try it. But I will try looking for it and re-upload if possible  Angel

Now on to camiloml's release:

I have tired it out and ITS UNSTABLE!
YOU CAN'T ENTER THE BIOS MENU.
You are stuck with a black screen after you press the F2 key when booting and I have waited for 30 minutes, only for nothing to happen.
Luckily, you can still boot to OS. So no bricks Big Grin
After I booted to windows, I have flashed stock bios. and was able to access bios menu once again.
So please, do not flash his release.

So what we can do now?
What you and I can do is keep on bumping this thread until another modder stops by. Smile
Im sorry but it is the way it is.
I still would like to thank camiloml and BDMaster for their efforts.
I am very sorry for the extremely late feedback.
Good luck and fingers-crossed for the Aspire 4930G bios to get unlocked!

greetings modders, i have an acer aspire 4930g (from 2008) that's sitting on its outdated bios since the day it was bought, and since then I've encountered some issues like the advanced menu (for overclocking and other misc features) being missing and it feeling "outdated" (even with mx linux installed as its os on a 500gb hdd), so has anyone attempted to mod the bios of this and unlock its hidden features? or atleast updated it to a newer (official) vershion? Thanks! 😁

note: image shown below is whatever i took about its bios

btw im new to this website so sorry if i posted this to the wrong section

Hi I checked my backups but I couldn't find the modded BIOS anywhere, probably I deleted it during some cleanup session to save storage space.
I can't remember how I did it, but I had hardware virtualization "enabled, locked" (checked with SecurAble) and CPU multiplier was able to reach 10x instead of 9.5x (about 133MHz increase in CPU freq), but it didn't make any noticeable difference.
The laptop has almost reached 20 years old, it may be better & more efficient to get a newer laptop instead.

EDIT: It seems my laptop has a different CPU (T9400) than yours (T6400)

hi and thanks for your effort!

well since i like to get the most out of the things i own (and this laptop being older than me  Wink ), i though modifying its bios would've been an option since i saw people tried getting Intel virtualization to it, but even if it was added apps like bluestacks isn't going to be a smooth experience (im saying from my personal experience on windows 7 btw)

well if you really don't have a compatible custom bios for my laptop (that had 3gb of ram for more than a decade  Tongue ), where (and how) can i update it from official sources? because surely this laptop did had a bios update at its 18 years of somehow being perfectly fine internally (aka with no major damage other than its shell being a little cracked)
