Hi all,

I have read the tutorials, but I think I'm in a dilemma.

I want to flash(the USB + (Fn+Esc) method) an Acer with blank screen. I downloaded the BIOS from BIOS_Acer_1.13_A_A.zip (Acer site).
Unpacked it, loaded into Andy's tool, no Decrypt message; One message with "Recovery filenames are:Q5WV1X64.f?" and some other messages with header etc. So far so good, but I cannot find the file with the name Q5WV1X64.f? (or .fd). All I could find is a directory DUMP with a lots of files .ROM. What should I do next? copy all the files to the USB stick ? Confused

Please can you be so kind and help me with some hints. Angel

Thank you in advance. Smile

Best regards Paul P.

Solved in the meantime.

I just run the .exe, and I searched in the temp folders the "Q5WV1X64.fd" (.FD) file. I'll update if it works or not(the revive of the Acer laptop).

Have a nice.

Best regards,
Paul P.

Ok friend,
It depends on your last upadated version !
You cannot go back to 1.13 if was installed 2.13 and then after 2.xx all Bios are Capsulated too !
To extract from .exe Bios file Yu have to use an HexEditor then looking for "ROM_PACKB" string
and then delete from 0x0000000 (Ftarting File Offset) to last 0x00 byte after "ROM_PACKB" string
look this pic :

Then You have to look for "$INI_PACK" string and go to that offset 0x006748E0 and delete all
rest of file, so now save and You get your Bios File Extracted ! Wink

Bios Size Len 5.248 KB !!!
This Guide is only for 1.xx Bios for 2.xx I publicated yet !

Hi. I have cracked screen on my Acer E1-531, and i cannot acess bios via HDMI and VGA.
I cannot change bios settings, and install some OS.

I want to modify this bios: http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/...&SC=EMEA_7

to show bios settings, boot menu ... in all outputs: HDMI, VGA, And dysplay(if i will buy one in future)

is it possible?

Human is the most disturbance quantity.
