[REQUEST] Asus G731GW BIOS Unlock
#41
Hello Genius!! I have an Asus ROG Strix Hero III G731GW that I would like to unlock the overclocking options in the BIOS. I would like to be able to adjust my RAM settings, as I just upgraded to 32gb of 3200mhz, but it's only clocking at 2667mhz.
Can you please mod my file?

I really appreciate what you do. Thanks for helping!!

BIOS dump file here: https://www65.zippyshare.com/v/H2nSCMGi/file.html

@valin
1. Your mod was done.

2. Referring to the experiences from many ASUS 8th and 9th gen laptop users ,not all laptops can run ddr4 3200 as stable ,2933mhz might be a relatively stable freq.

Hi

I have an ASUS ROG Strix G731GW with a last BIOS official update (309).

I am looking to unlock the overclocking menu, memory speed / timings / xmp profiles, CPU power/thermal limits, GPU power/thermal limits.

I cant activate XMP 2.0 profile while the option are hidden in my locked bios.

Anyone could help me to mod my bios, please?

Thanks in advanced.

@Arma46

Make a bios dump with this tool then attach the file. (Run dump.bat as administrator)

Hi @genius239.
Could you, please, also help me unlock undervolting capabilities in my G731GW bios?
Here's the dump made by the util you provided
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZWrs_X5...T7GQa/view
My final goal is to lower the running temperature as much as possible in games, meaning Max GPU and CPU fan
speeds + disable Armory Crate built-in overclocking.
Unfortunately, as far as i can see, Armory Crate is the only util that can help me control GPU fan in "Manual" mode, but
it always ships with CPU overclocking!
If I switch to "Windows" mode, Windows would override overclocking options with it's settings but the fans won't work at maximum.
My hope is that I can force-lock CPU overclocking in BIOS somehow and be able to use Armory Crate to control fan speeds.
Maybe you're also competent enough to hint your thoughs on this issue, if you have some =)
Thank you

@vadiktuz @phantompanda
On laptop platform , bios can't directly control fan speed as it was controlled by EC.

@vadiktuz
The best solution for your request is uninstall Armory Crate then do cpu undervolt via ThrottleStop or XTU ,it should be reduced some temperature when laptop runs at high loading.

Laptop ageing and environment temperature are another reasons to caused the high temperature.
