[REQUEST] HP Compaq TC1100 Whitelist Removal
#11
Hi !
Please do not remove the mod, i probably just was too stupid !
Can you look at the slic 2.1 rom (which was my base) ?
IS there a recovery mode enabled in that bios ?

By now i followed and tried dozenz of phoenix bios recovery threads, tried all the usual keyboard combos and boot floppies..

No luck :-(

Maybe you can help me get it recovered...

Hello Admin & all,
i found a flash service that will unsolder my bios chip, flash the bios and resolder it.
(Too much for just beeing stupid, but otherwise 40 euros for that is VERY cheap i feel).

I will see for another day if someone finds a recovery solution but then i will send my note away...

BUT,
i went through all this to get my broadcom working and this will not work now...
Could you try to edit the bios when i send you the data of my broadcom ?
(provided that someone did this successful one time ?)

I could also send you my flash that lead to the desaster.
if whatever you edit looks similar to my effort then we know its not a good idea, otherwise we could give it a chance...

Pls. let me know !

Right , after some time and thinking about it , the problem could be with the SLIC 2.1 mod that was posted (As tats what i could open in PBE)

Please do the following

Just flash the SLIC 2.1 mod (which is 1MB compared with the original 605kb = Fishy! Tongue)

If it breaks again , probably the slic mods bad and il have to see if theres a way to mod the unmoddable one Tongue (the 605kb original)

Hello admin !
As i mentioned in my PM to you -->
You can have my own BIOS dump ( 1 MByte ) as a base point if you wish, just tell me where to send it :-)
(of course i can also send my patched one that fouled everything up, so if you try to mod the bios and end up with an identical image we know its no-go).

The problem with trying out is that i cannot do !

The flash service has to unsolder the flash before writing to it and to solder before beeing able to try it out...

If i pay him good $$$ (or EUEUEUEU) he will first flash ONE tryout image and if it does not work THEN the original one, so we need to be reasonably sure that the one we produce is GOOD :-)

Again for more direct contact i love to give you my Mail or the likes as a PM, just tell me what you are willing to invest in time and knowledge, i could try to patch it again, this time taking mine as a base, and i WILL if i have to but i have a [censored] more trust in your knowledge :-)

Bye,

Ender
Hi again,
here are the data for my wanted Broadcom WLAN:
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4318&SUBSYS_50101468

I left the first intel cards ( 2100 and 2200 minipci ) untouched as i have a 2100 myself...
I edited the first atheros enty to be my broadcom.

could you try your magic or is your softpaq comment meant in a way that it is a hopless case anyway ?
Sorry didn't get it, new to the bios moding stuff although not beeing a complete idiot :-)

Ender

P.S. again: would you benefit from the original BIOS.WPH ( 600kB) or my backup of my working bios ( 1 MB ) ??

My slic 2.1 bios was ok. I have successfully flashed it.
Here you can find screenshot with slic dump:

Hi Palych,
okay, the slic 2.1 image is okay then...
did you brick your note by flashing the bios modded by admin ?
Or were you foolish enough to patch the bios by yourself (like me ) and bricked your note ?

We need to establish if someone successfully modded the whitelist thus NOT bricking the tc1100.
Then we need to find that one and make him help us :-)

Bye,

Ender...

P.S. Palych--> were you able to find a similar bios repair service as is did ?
I am in Germany...

ok , now the slic 2,1 image works ok thats what ive used as a base

Edited Broadcom Whitelist

Flash at your own risk! Last go now ! Tongue

ROMPAQ bioses cannot usually be modded for SLIC , i will have to investigate what the chinese person did

@Palych:
One more question:

As i need One 100% working flash i am interested in your slic21 version.
The one that you finally flashed and that worked is the one you posted before:

and here you can download moded bios:
http://rapidshare.com/files/348880826/BI...1.rar.html

THAT was the one, no more modding before you flashed it and it worked ? Can i rely on that ?
Because IF so, that will be my worst case fallback AND it would be admins base for modding the whitelist...

Please confirm.

Ender

P.S. if you cannot find a bios resolder service i am willing to help you for shipping your tc1100 to my (re)solder guy if you are not from Germany, that is :-)
