[REQUEST]Help with removing the PPT limit from T2SEEP Motherboard by tty APTIO V BIOS
#1
As I have described in this thread on servethehome, I am struggling to lift the imposed PPT limitations on my Genoa 9654QS.

I am aware that this could be a hybrid issue between motherboard operation and UEFI, but since I am slowly running out of options, I'd like to try my luck with an unlocked BIOS and see where things take me from there:

I have dumped the flash directly using afuDOS, and I am confident that the currently flashed bios is identical to the file available from the manufacturers website [DOWNLOAD LINK]

I can access the AMD CBS settings, but many of them are unavailable, specifically anything related to TDP or PPT

(Mis)using the BoringBoredom UEFI-Editor on Github to read the Section_PE32_image_CbsSetupSmmSTP_CbsSetupSmmRs and Section_PE32_image_CbsSetupDxeSTP_CbsSetupDxeRS files, I have come across potentially relevant options in the "SMU common options" dialog.

However, most of the set defaults shouldn't be a problem, but I frankly don't know enough about overclocking in general, the genoa architecture and the AMD AGESA specifically to understand if auto (use fued TDP) could be the problem.

Could any of these settings lead to an underpowered CPU? Maybe some kind of limiter put in place by AMD to stop people from using/selling their QS CPUs?

More importantly:

How do I actually modify the relevant sct files, and is this sufficient or do i need to also modify amitse? And do the SMM and DXE files both need to be modified?

Also, is it possible that there is a different element of the BIOS which actually overrides the AMD settings?

Does it make sense the set custom pstates etc. in the BIOS if I can actually access and write to the HSMP registers during runtime?

I hope someone reads this and knows how to help.

I'll gladly also just take a modified BIOS, but i'd actually be interested in understanding what is/has been done, so if there are any relevant resources you could point me to, I'll also gladly do my own research.

My main issue is, that I am so far out of my depth here, that I don't even know where to start

Kind Regards

Chiliben
