Hello im newbie at this so please be calm. Today i wanted to update bios on my laptop Lenovo g500s and it said that i have newer bios already any way here is screenshot.



http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds036474 I did download update from here.

Only reason i wanted to update bios is that i might get overclock options but from what i read official one won't do it.

This is my current bios back up made with Universal BIOS Backup ToolKit 2.0

So i have questions and request.

First question do i really have newer bios than one from "78cn25ww" update?

Secound if you unlock this bios i posted on zippyshare will it allow me to overclock?

Third how many people did update to modified bios on Lenovo g500s with success?

And a little request once i get unlocked bios can i ask for a guide so i don't brick my laptop.

You are talking about two Laptops differents !!!

Lenovo G500s 78CN25WW (V2.03) motherboard BIOS - Lenovo_G500 (VILG1)

Lenovo G500 7BCN28WW (V1.11) motherboard BIOS - Lenovo_G500s (VIWGP)

So MotherBoards differents and Bioses differents !!!

You cannot update It just You will get a Brick !

My bios Lenovo G500s 7BCN28WW can it be unlocked to allow overclock?

That's only reason why i want mod bios.

I got one question i created bootabe usb using rufus and those settings http://www.howtogeek.com/136987/how-to-c...usb-drive/

Now my usb looks like this correct right?

And final question what do you mean by "Don't touch Video Settings or Disable Video Card It will Brick laptop !!!"

Currently in bios i have only one option for graphics device and it's set to switchable graphics do you mean this?

And should i be worried? i got my battery fully loaded so even when there's no power it can flash bios.

After i boot into dos i only type: "Flash.bat" right? and wait don't touch anything until it restarts yes?

OK so i did boot into dos and typed Flash.bat and this popup.



I quite i did not click continue since i have no idea what kinda effect it would have on laptop so im asking here.

You have to continue . . . It's allmost quite and if You are lucky then you'll find new Tabs
Advanced and Power into Setup Menu and could try to OC but be aware to Brick your laptop !

If im lucky and if im not it will brick instantly?

And there's risk to brick when using new menus to OC a bit...

Ok maybe the risk is not worth it now that you put it like that i need to rethink.

Can i make backup on secound pendrive in case modded one bricks or there's no rescue?
