[REQUEST] Lenovo G580 (5ECNxxWW) Whitelist removal
This a duplicate post from the other G580 thread. I will delete it when one or the other gets answered thank you for understanding!

I have a Lenovo G580 (MODEL 20150) with BIOS= 5ECN92WW(V8.04) INSYDE CORP. RELEASE DATE 09/14/2012

Any ideas on how to make a backup for you to mod? If you're willing of course...

I appreciate your help in advance.

Thank you thank you thank you! I will try to flash tonight and I will update very soon!

I just looked at it, how do i do this? unpack it with WinRAR and then copy to usb and change boot order to usb first, reboot and then what? This works for UEFI right? This is my first time doing this? maybe your directions would be simpler.

Ok, results: PERFECT. I did get an error 28 but I think it was because I left Secure Boot enabled. I pressed enter anyway and it completed successfully. I simply shut down after it was done popped in new WIFI card and it worked. Thank you so much, I'll buy you beer sometime bud! Wink

Ok only one way before HW SPI Programmer !
Try this one :

http://rghost.net/8r9gPkHNb

Recovery Procedure :

Format an USB Stick to Fat32 filesystem then copy the recovery Bios file .bin into and then
continue with this . . .

- Shutdown the netbook (notebook)
- Remove all peripheral devices
- Remove battery, Remove AC power cord
- Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds (battery and AC power still out), then release
- Put the USB Memory Stick in the USB port
- Hold "Fn" + "Esc" and plug the AC power cord in
- Now press the power button (whilst still holding Fn + Esc).
Wait until the fan will run, then release "Fn" + "Esc" keys
- The fan will run for about 2-10 minutes and the USB drive activity LED will blink
- I think the netbook rebooted automatically. If it doesn't, unplug the AC power cord once the fan has turned off

The bios should be updated with the modified BIOS, and boot as per normal.
