[REQUEST] Lenovo Y50-70 (9ECNxxWW) BIOS Unlock
(03-13-2016, 06:14 AM)Da Vinci Code Wrote: Not, only removing battery CMOS!
Also remove Wifi adapter and turn on laptop.
I suggest you made some dangerous changes into Bios setup.
Anyway do this 2 operations and look at result!

no i changed absolutely nothing in the BIOS, i just restored the setting to its default, just outta being cautious

even though still i can have access to the BIOS setting and the BIOS setting works fine.

it only gets stuck at LENOVO lego and goes no further and then after few sec, system will restart itself.

ok I'll try removing CMOS battery and will report the result. but i dont know exactly where is the wifi adapter! have to search youtube for it.

i used universal bios toolkit v2 to get backup of my bios.

i got CMOS battery out and cleared CMOS but didn't changed the problem !!!

btw my laptop is the latest version of y50-70 (with GTX 960M and IPS touch Display, those old y50-70 came with a 860M and 4K TN Display)

anyway, how can i flash my original bios back and make everything as it was before ????
or how to at least flash your modified bios again? maybe it works

Thx

Rename your saved original dump to bios.bin and replace to old into Modified folder.
Update from pure DOS with USB-bootable stick
See how to make one here:

Copy the "Modified" folder contents into the stick and boot in DOS mode and
Run Flash.bat to update.

my original bios backup format is .ROM
is it ok to rename the format to .BIN  ?

i made the flash DOS bootable, but when i choose the USB from BOOT MENU, the same problem happens, the system will restart itself !!

it seems system have some kinda problem with booting in general, that's why it doesn't boot from the HDD either. Confused

i think there is some new options in ur modded BIOS that should be changed in order to make the system to boot from anything !

btw i dont know it helps or not
my hdd has GPT Partition and my OS is win 10 with UEFI

On, you must disable Secure boot to Boot from another OS!
And enable Legacy mode!
