Hi I'm also having trouble with my wifi card and would like to have my whitelist unlocked.
I currently have bios v1.14 and these are the results for my y50.

Can someone please reccomend a tool so I can create a copy of my bios.

I am looking to change my WWan card on my Y50-70 and want to remove the Whitelist.

For Bios to version 1.14 use this Guide . . .

Update from pure DOS with USB-bootable stick

Copy the "Modified" folder contents into the stick and boot in DOS mode and
Run Flash.bat to update.

Or use Sleep Bug . . .

Unpack the Bios Mod and copy the "modified" folder into C: HD root place !
Then open Command Promt with Admin Rights (CLI window C:\), put your laptop
into Sleep Mode (just close the Lid) and then Wacke-Up It (reopen the Lid),
after this execute these comands from CLI window :

cd \

cd modified

fptw -f bios.bin -bios

(or fptw64 for Windows x64)

Don't touch Video Settings or Disable Video Card It will Brick laptop !!!

UPDATE !!! ***** Only version 1.13 (30) or 1.14 (31) are Full Moddable so Downgrade to them . . . *****

How To Downgrade :

Run this to downgrade:

Remember to set the Option (BIOS Back Flash) in bios that
enables you to flash an older bios, before you run it.


Nop (user) suggestion . . .

I found another solution - Just in case it was ever needed.

Download the 1.14 version

Then use 7-zip to extract that .exe file, You will find a platform.ini file into that folder.

Then Look for "BIOSVFEnable=2" and replace it with "BIOSVFEnable=0", run as Administrator InsydeFlash.exe tool and go !

Verified working !


Now You can flash the Bios Mod using Slee Bug . . .

Unpack the Bios Mod and copy the "modified" folder into C: HD root place !
Then open Command Promt with Admin Rights (CLI window C:\), put your laptop
into Sleep Mode (just close the Lid) and then Wacke-Up It (reopen the Lid),
after this execute these comands from CLI window :

cd \

cd modified

fptw -f bios.bin -bios

(or fptw64 for Windows x64)

We flash v.3.0 over BIOS version 1.14 which unlock eeprom, but It disalign EC code.

You have to follow this step :

1. Downgrade to 1.13 or 1.14
2. Boot to Windows
3. Use Sleep Bug to flash Bios Mod
4. Flash using this mode :

Unpack the Bios Mod and copy the "modified" folder into C: HD root place !

into Sleep Mode (just close the Lid) and then Wacke-Up It (reopen the Lid),

I would like my whitelist unlocked. I'm trying to install a new wifi card onto my Lenovo y50. I will use the Intel 7260 WiFi card. Is it possible to unlock the advanced menu also?
