[REQUEST] Sony VAIO SVE151 & SVE171 Series (R01x0D6) - BIOS Unlock
#11
Tell me exactly, what file have you flashed? the one from Sony or the one from BDMaster?
Also, It was important for you to be already in the BIOS revision you were trying to flash...

Answer the question and stick with me...

Here is what i did:

I dumped the R0170D6 BIOS from within Windows using InsydeFlashX64 - just changed a variable in the corresponding INI file to make it create a backup.

After the DUMP (.BIN file) was created, i downloaded the RAR archive from the first post in this thread (i thought it would give me more menu options within the Insyde BIOS):

http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-UN...VE1712-C5E

Using PhoenixTool 2.50, i replaced the FE3542FE-C1D3-4EF8-657C-8048606FF670.MOD from within the RAR archive with the one from my extracted DUMP.

After that i repacked the extracted DUMP and flashed it (9 MB .BIN file). The result is what i got now - a non functioning notebook.

Reflashing the original dump also doesn't make the notebook work.

Ohh, BAD
You flashed a encapsulated BIOS into your chip, the RIGHT BIOS to flash was the PURE one BDMaster gave you friend he didnt gave you a modded BIOS, he gave the right one to mod and flash, but read bellow...

I did flashed a encapsulated BIOS one time when I started modding BIOS and to tell you the truth, if you can still enter recovery mode you are very lucky because mine couldnt get even power anymore! To recover you can try to flash this using recovery mode:

https://hostr.co/YcJ7K2L7QneI

This is the RIGHT file you should've flash by recovery, modded to get the menus.

Report.

P.S : If it works and you do not want to mess with it again, don't mess with Video settings if you do not have totally confidence in what you are doing, disabling IGD bricks some notebooks.

I did the following now (liek i did with every other flash file):

Pulled Battery
Pulled AC Cable
Inserted USB stick
Held down [FN] + [Esc]
Plugged in AC Cable
Pressed and held [ON] key
Released [ON] + [FN] + [Esc]

The notebook started up, accessed the USB drive for about 20 seconds. Then it shut down itself about nearly 1 minute.

When i try to start it up normally, there is still only a black screen. The HDD LED is blinking.

Using the [ASSIST] key, i also only get a black screen - nothing more. Sad

Ok, try the one from BDMaster, if it does not work, maybe this is really not the right BIOS for your notebook.

Your options are:

Grabbing the right one and flashing by recovery (the unencapsulated version)
Use your warranty if you still have it (Lie to sony, tell your computer suddenly stopped working)
Grabbing a full dump of some1 with the same machine and flashing it by either recovery or External EEPROM programmer.
And most expensive one, replacing the motherboard.

It doesn't work. Still the same situation as described before. Sad

Seems like i have to send it in since i don't have a real dump created from within EFI shell. But they will refuse to give me warranty since i almost opened the notebook to pull the CMOS battery (which i hoped was the last chance of erasing BIOS settings in order to get it working again).

I'm willing to donate to anyone with a VALID and WORKING BIOS DUMP of a Sony VAIO SVE1713Y1E.

Yes, sadly he tought he was supposed to flash the encapsulated BIOS, but the strange thing is that he can still use recovery mode, so I trink that with the right BIOS he can recover, the problem is he doesn't even know if the BIOS is the right one...

I think that Bios when try to load itself It goes into Heaven Code as The HRV not is at right place cause the longer encapsulated version displaces it behind and the jump to starting bios code jump to an inner routine and the absolute references are falsed too !
It's real mistake and bios don't search any Recovery file, only madness ago !
