Is this the right test clips??

https://www.sunrom.com/p/uln2803-soic-18-wide

Will this procedure involve soldering? I don't have the tools do that.

No, that is a BIOS chip. And no, none of this involves soldering

Sorry, I forgot your have H55 board, this board's BIOS is in a socket correct? I know most mainstream Asus P35-Z77 desktop ones are in socket, if you are not sure open the case and show me some images of the board, especially near CMOS battery, You may not need test clip, you might just need programmer and chip extractor that I linked in post #7

YOu have to look at the motherboard and tell me yourself, or take an image or two. The BIOS is usually near the CMOS battery (In this case near the SATA Ports). You can't give me a link to your motherboard because this is a contained motherboard in a system, Asus does not provide images of the board inside and the images on Aliexpress are just standard Asus stock images (may not be exact same as your board, you can never be sure without checking) If you want me to look at the mainstream desktop version, that "Might" be the same as your board, that will only be a guess. If you want to know for sure, open your system case and look or show me images, then we know for sure.

If you want to rely on that image alone, then yes as I mentioned like 99% of Asus boards during this timeframe, that is a socketed BIOS (Single)
So, you would not need test clips, only the flash programmer and the chip extractor

These are some pics clicked by me. I found a local shop selling programmer and other stuff, please tell me what parts to buy according to my mobo.

Good, thanks for pics, best to be sure before you order in case you need or don't need stuff Big Grin

That is single BIOS in a socket like the images showed, but it's still good we checked to confirm before you purchased stuff.

So you only need CH341A programmer by itself, and U Type Flat Chip / IC Extractor (To get BIOS out of socket without breaking the legs)

Okay thanks, Tomorrow I'll check for these parts. This programmer is a usb type right?

You're welcome. yes, CH341A is USB, it looks just like the one you linked here (There is also some blue/green models, search CH341A programmer on ebay for examples)
