Hello, I'm new to the forum. Forgive me if I make any mistakes. I have a Sony Vaio Sr29vn model laptop. Current features are Intel P8600, Ati HD3470 256Mb, 2x2Gb DDR2 800Mhz, 120Gb SSD, 1TB HDD. Since it is a laptop that I enjoy using, I want to upgrade it. I can buy P9600 processor if it supports Bios. I would also be happy if you could check whether it supports 2x4gb DDR2 800Mhz ram. If there is any information or screenshot you want, I can send it to you. Bios version is R1110Y1, version R1130Y1 is also available, I will need to update it if necessary. (For years, I have not installed Bios updates unless necessary. If it works, there is no need to touch it I know the update notes.) Thank you in advance.

I did some research but it's still not clear. Can you recommend a program? I have the exe of the R1130Y1 version, I can try to convert it too. I attached it also. I tried to extract it with 7z but it gave "There are some data after the end of the payload data." error.

Try to use simple Universal BIOS Backup ToolKit
Okay, I got the backup. It is attached. I think it supports 2x4Gb RAM, if you can see it from there, I would happy it if you could check it out. Thanks.

And this laptop supports 2x4GB DDR2, but they are expensive.
Thank you for everthing. As far as I remember, the novelty of the R1130Y1 bios update was hyper threading support. Do you think this will increase performance in normal use? Should I do it?
