[Request] Lenovo S130 / 130S Whitelist removal
#1
Question
A lot of people start threads with "excuse my English". I don't think my English will need excuses, but I hope you'll excuse my poor command of the BIOS modding language. Sad

I also hope this is the right sub... So I would like to remove the whitelist from my Lenovo Ideapad S130-14IGM. And this is where it gets a bit more complicated, at least for a newbie like me...

  1. Because I'm not even sure there is a whitelist on this computer: I googled S130-14IGM (type 81J2) and could not come up with anything conclusive for this model
  2. When I boot into the (UEFI) BIOS I am welcomed with a screen that reads "Phoenix SecureBios" at the top
  3. However when I use Andy's PhoenixTool on the saved/dumped bios, the status box clearly states EFI/ Insyde Bios; so is it Phoenix (SecureCore) or is it Insyde? I'm confused.
  4. The aim is not to replace the wireless lan card with another one, it would be to use a M.2 A+E keyed to M.2 M keyed adapter so that I can insert an NVMe SSD instead (the eMMC being unbearably slow). Does removing a whitelist cover this kind of scenario? I don't yet have the adapter, so I haven't been able  to try it, sorry about that. That however will change shortly.
  5. The link to the downloadable BIOS from Lenovo support is https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mob...n27ww.exe; interestingly the BIOS file come with a .cap extension. I don't know what to make of it.
  6. The bios I saved (dumped) I named BIOS.BAK; it can (should?) be downloadable from https://mega.nz/file/XVs1WT5C#orrXMKh1UC...9RMUqZgG7Q
  7. Andy's PhoenixTool split this BIOS.BAK into multiple .ROM files on top of multiple .BIOS file in a dump folder but I guess you can do without those.

Thank you in advance for reading my broken Biosmodglish so far.
[edit] just noticed that I could attach files, but it doesn't seem to work with the bios.bak file, only with Andy's PhoenixTool screenshot.
