Request for Asus P5K64 WS - OCZ SDD Raid Support
#1
Thanks for helping with my Asus P5K Deluxe Board

Now im searching a new Bios for my "Asus P5K64 WS".
My HDD OCZ SSD won't boot, if im using the Raid-Mode of the Intel controller.

Intel ICH9R controller OROM 7.5.0.1017
Marvell 88SE6121 RAID-Adapter BIOS Version 1.2.0.28.

Marvell 88E8052/88E8001 Dual Gigabit LAN

last Bios from Asus 2008.11.07 Version 0801

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/sock...S-0801.zip

can somebody help me?

3 for you to try; use the highest working IMR version. All 3 have Marvell 88SE6121 L73 + RAID 1.2.0.31.

Feel free to use/link/host any BIOS I post, no credit necessary. However, this is at your own risk and I take no responsibility. Always keep a backup of a known-good BIOS. Don't flash a motherboard if you don't have a backup computer just in case.

Always use RAID mode. RAIDFix

Dansolo, thank you for your efforts!

Test tomorrow my SSD with Intel Raid Mode.

Intel OROM 10.6.
AHCI Mode works without problems.

all 3 BIOS Version have a error in Marvell 88SE61xx
tested Legacy Mode BIOS Version 1.1.0.L73
and RAID Mode BIOS Version 1.2.0.31. and ends with
Initializing....
"Warning - BIOS data errror!"

Not sure what that means in particular but here's Intel Matrix RAID 10.6 with no Marvell changes. Can do one for 9.6 or 8.7 without Marvell if necessary.

Flashed for p5k64-ws-asus-0801-imr10.6.0-mrvl73raid1.2.0.31.rom to your p5k64-ws-asus-0801-imr10.6.0.rom Version an got a really fast Message.

"No enough Space to copy PCI Option ROM [03:00:00]"

After reflash back to the original Version, the Update to last BIOS works.
Intel OROM 10.6.0
Marvell Legacy Mode BIOS Version 1.1.0.L69
Marvell RAID Mode BIOS Version 1.2.0.28.

Can you make a BIOS with Marvell 88SE61xx v1.1.0.L72a for me?

That is the only RAID ROM for it that I have. I think I figured out the difference - your stock ROM is 60.5KB. I have a RAID ROM for 88SE6145 that has an 89KB RAID ROM like the 6121 ROM I gave you, but it also has a ROM that is split into 2 parts of 60.5KB and 28KB. So your BIOS is using those split versions and I may need to find that 28KB version in your ROM. Then I could modify the 6145 ROM to have the 6121 device ID, fix the checksum, and it should work...

I'm working on it (and eating lunch) now, should have a new file for you in 30-60 minutes.

its 20kb big

last firmware from Marvell 88SE614xx & Marvell 88SE61xx PCI-E version 1.2.0.34 (Raid) & 1.1.0.L73 (Pata/Sata)

the 20KB ones don't have RAID... Here, the 61xx files are supposed to be the same, so I adapted L74/RAID1.2.0.34 from 6145 to 6121 (by just changing the device ID in the file), split it into the 2 files required by your BIOS, and fixed the checksums.

Found out, why the "No enough Space" message comes.

The Intel Option ROM 10.6. its too big for using Intel and Marvell Opting ROM's at same time.

Every Option Rom alone are be loaded.

Found no driver for Marvell eSATA, who works under Windows 7 64Bit.
Marvell Raid Mode takes me blue screens
Marvell legacy Mode needs over 2 min for initialising (with Microsoft driver)

That stuff happens with all of the above ROMs? Here's one with the Marvell NIC PXE OROMs removed. I am not sure if you're trying to tell me that the L74 stuff doesn't work... let me know if that's the case.
