Sony Vaio VGN-AR630E R2080J8 Intel VT-x Enabled (Post: #7)
#11
(02-20-2011, 11:09 AM)kizwan Wrote: Hi,

In addition to unlocked hidden options in BIOS menu, the BIOS can be modify to unlocked EIST. When EIST is unlocked, you can enabled dual-IDA because the Intel PM965 & T7250 support 800MHz FSB, which means 2.20GHz@x11. If you can wait 5 to 7 days more, I can mod it for you.

Sir,I have a Sony Vaio VGN-AR630E i am not able to get the vaio Logo ,I think the bios is corupt, Please guide me and please upload the unlocked bios for Sony Vaio VGN-AR630E. If possible please give me instructions how to flash a corrupt bios.
Very eager for your reply

Regards
Iqbal

i GOT A COMPATIBLE BATTERY with a C.D FOR my SONY VAIO VGN-AR630E, the instruction direct me to install the bios update program first which was in the C.D and later install the battery.

I started updating it as the update reached about 30% the laptop was struck, i waited for almost half hour and i pulled the power and battery to shut down the laptop.
After that i restarted the laptop and it is not working.I am not able to go to bios also. The bios does not show, the laptop is literally dead.I feel the bios is corrupted.

Please help

Please download BIOS R2080J8SLIC21.zip. Extract the content of the ZIP file. Rename the R2080J8F_SLIC.WPH file to R2080J8F.WPH. Put R2080J8F.WPH in USB flash drive (FAT32). Plugged in the USB flash drive to your notebook. Then power on your notebook. Let your notebook run itself for 15 minutes.

OK. That doesn't work. Please try this method.

What you need are:-
  1. USB floppy drive
  2. A floppy disk
  3. A computer with Windows XP

What you need to do:-
  1. Download "BIOS recovery" package in this post.
  2. DO NOT FOLLOW THE BIOS RECOVERY PROCEDURE FOR ACER ASPIRE 3680.
  3. Extract the Acer Aspire 3680 BIOS Recovery.rar in Windows XP.
  4. Rename the R2080J8F_SLIC.WPH file to BIOS.WPH.
  5. Replaced the BIOS.WPH file in the CRISDISK folder with the BIOS.WPH file from no. 4.
  6. Plugged in the "USB floppy drive" with floppy disk inserted.
  7. Go to CRISDISK folder, run WINCRIS.EXE, select the floppy disk in "Driver" & click "Start" to create the CRISIS disk.
  8. After you have created the CRISIS disk, plugged in the "USB floppy drive" with floppy disk (CRISIS disk) inserted at your Sony notebook. (Make sure your Sony notebook in power off state.)
  9. Power on your notebook & let it run for 15 minutes.

If you don't have floppy disk, try with USB flash drive. If the BIOS is not recovered with USB flash drive, try with "USB floppy drive" & with a floppy disk. Please follow the procedure correctly.

Sorry, I don't know the exact BIOS recovery procedure on Sony Vaio notebook. I'll let you know if I found anything on it. Please keep both CRISIS disks. Maybe needed later.
BTW, please try post #14 again. This time removed the battery & hard disk.

If you use my modified BIOS image & you like it, please consider making a donation. Thank you very much. Smile
