That's OK. So you can try to use quad cores CPU (Sandy Bridge).

i now have the new cpu installed and the laptop runs
but it is still shown as i5 2450m
i also have only 4 logic cores
how do i fix that?

Do Load Default in BIOS.
Show CPU information in BIOS.

i loaded the defaults, but there is no info on the cpu in my bios...
also loading the defaults didn' solve the problem
