I used Rufus to make a FreeDOS bootable USB, I select the USB as the boot device from the BIOS menu and once its gets to the DOS prompt I ran flash.bat.

Hi
I have same laptop Lenovo Thinkpad T440s and problem with new Huawei ME906E LTE/WWAN module. So I should either have whitelist WWAN module, have whitelist removed ("everything enabled") on BIOS or change ID for WWAN module to be accepted by BIOS.
So as you already might have modified BIOS for T440s I am also interested to have it.
Unfortunately I do not run Windows on this computer so backup tool would not work. But if course I can do DOS boot media for firmware update.
Linux dmidecode information:
Version: GJET79WW (2.29 )
Release Date: 09/03/2014
Firmware Revision: 1.9
Address: 0xE0000
ROM Size: 16384 kB
Runtime Size: 128 kB
I got this WWAN module cheaply so I would do donation via PayPal.
Best regards, Toblery

Helo ;-)
Unfortunately these tools did not work on DOS mode and as I mentioned I can not run Windows (live bootable Windows available?)
So I can not run backup tool. Is there any other way for doing this? Flashtool for Linux does not support laptops.

This didn't work. I got following message:
Error 201: [FPT.exe] cannot be run on the current platform. Please contact your vendor.
I used FreeDOS on USB and booted without any software/drivers.
