Flashing worked nicely. Have yet to try to install W7. Didn't have the time today, but where do I check to see if the SLIC 2.1 is as it should be? Could Everest tell if the SLIC is HP and 2.1? If so, where? Or is there any other util that could view the SLIC? I.e, is there any place I could see that it says "HP" SLIC? I'm new at this, so I'm just asking Smile None of the CPI tables says SLIC after flashing with your posted bios.

I've looked with the RW-Everything Read & Write utility and under ACPI, there no tab called SLIC.

Id wait till you install win 7 , try the certificate and key , then see what happens.

Remember , Windows 7 isnt officialy out yet , so Everest / RW everything software etc may not be designed to support SLIC 2.1 yet

Thanks! I'll do that this weekend. Would have tried today, but Metallica Concert ranks a bit higher than Windows 7 today Big Grin

Btw, I only have SLIC 2.0 HP cert. Is there any newer (2.1 cert) out? I've heard the 2.0 cert should work.

Thanks for the mod!

Just wondering if anyone who has patched their BIOS, flashed within Windows or did it old school through DOS?
