HP Pro 3300 & 3400 (H61): Upgrade to Ivy Bridge
#41
I tried running it, didn't do anything. It basically accepted the command, and then prompted a new line.

When running it with /pbn (or /pbnc) it says "System BIOS image invalid or corrupt"

Try to make & attach backup BIOS:
SAFUWIN BACKUP.ROM /o
find

Did not work. See attached file for error.

It's rather strange.
1. Download AMI Flash Utilities
2. Extract and copy files from amiflash\Aptio\afudos\afudos.zip\AfuDos\ to USB stick with native DOS
3. Boot from bootable USB stick with native DOS
4. Run
afudos BACKUP.ROM /o
find

46 error again. See attached image.

I'm just going to give up I guess, unless you still see any options. Thanks for the effort so far!

1. Download Intel ME System Tools v7 r2
2. Copy all files from folder \Intel ME System Tools v7 r2\Flash Programming Tool\DOS to USB stick with native DOS.
3. Copy fparts.txt from Intel ME System Tools v8 r3\Flash Programming Tool\DOS
4. Boot from bootable USB stick with native DOS and run:
fpt -d backup.rom
if it fails then run
fpt -bios -d bios.rom
if it fails then run
fpt -desc -d desc.bin
5. Make a photo of result.
6. Give me backup.rom (bios.rom or desc.bin)

fpt -bios -d bios.rom worked, attached is the BIOS.ROM file but as a .rar, and after my edit, the photo of the result.

Does that error 26 perhaps have to do with the fact that I'm trying to flash the system with the i5-2300 in it, instead of a supported CPU?

Try to flash it back:
fpt -bios -f bios.rom
Any errors?

Error 280: Failed to disable write protection for the BIOS space!

Hmm...
Please boot in windows and test with original unmodded(!) CUP_716.ROM
SAFUWIN CUP_716.ROM /p /b /n /r
if it fails then run
Installer SAFUWIN CUP_716.ROM /p /b /n /r
Make a photo of results.
