Hi everybody,

Am having great trouble with my aspire one d270...still can't unlock my bios password
the problems that am facing:-
1. Forgot my bios password
2. Boot from usb/cd disabled on bios
3. Can't run boot sequence from F8 as this function may also be disabled

I've gone through all the steps to clear my AOD270 Bios password that is remove cmos battery. shorting method..etc
the password is still there

Can someone tell me how could i change the boot sequence w/o accessing the BIOS??
Actually it boots directly from HDD...

Is there any master bios password you may know..

Thanking you for your help

Try turning on the laptop while repeatedly pressing F12, this should bring up the Boot Sequence menu.

I've not actually tried this, but I saw it in a forum (can't remember which one).

I'm not sure whether the change is persistent or whether it reverts after you reboot again, I would suspect the latter.

You might also wish to consider using a universal bootloader such as available at pendrivelinux - I use supergrub live CD on my PCs whenever I have booting problems.

I hope this helps.

Could you do me a favor to unlock advanced setting for Acer aspire one D270 please?
I would like to customize advanced feature. Especially video memory size that fixed only for 8MB and I need to increase Smile

The original bios you can found from here.

Hi friend,
try this and flash It in Recovery Mode, so format an USB Stick in Dos Fat32 and copy file extracted into It, then rename as ZE7.fd :

https://www.sendspace.com/file/bl02qp

Recovery Procedure :

- Shutdown the netbook (notebook)
- Remove all peripheral devices
- Remove battery, Remove AC power cord
- Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds (battery and AC power still out), then release
- Put the USB Memory Stick in the USB port
- Hold "Fn" + "Esc" and plug the AC power cord in
- Now press the power button (whilst still holding Fn + Esc).
Wait until the fan will run, then release "Fn" + "Esc" keys
- The fan will run for about 2-10 minutes and the USB drive activity LED will blink
- I think the netbook rebooted automatically. If it doesn't, unplug the AC power cord once the fan has turned off

The bios should be updated with the modified BIOS, and boot as per normal.

Let me know
Regards

Thanks, work for me.

hello,

would anyone have a modified bios that has the option to enable VT support?
the one posted in the previous post doesn't have it...

it would be much appreciated.

AFAIK the processor in acer d270 doesn't have support for VTd, so no hack in  BIOS can make anything to this respect... Sad
