Hello !

I have a bios to flash on a Asus X555LN.

For now I used a X555LD dump file from the Internet and the computer started well.

How can I convert Asus Support file to flashable (CH341a) bios ?

Thanks !

I have a couple Lenovo W530 and have been trying to read the BIOS with CH341A. I completely removed the motherboard, attached the clip, but as long as the chips are on the MB, I cannot get a good read of the chip. Chip detect rotates through three states if I repeat detecting it: first state it correctly IDs MX25L3205D, 2nd and 3rd state it shows unknown, and then back to 1st state. Reading data is always corrupted and always different. However, when I remove the BIOS chips from the MB (4MB and 8MB chips), I can detect and read them correctly every time. I've seen the same behavior on two machines. Is Lenovo doing something to interfere with the ability to access this chip when it's on the MB? There is no power attached to the MB (no AC, no battery, no backup battery). Is there an additional step I need to do to read/write this chip without removing it from the MB?

Asuumuing you dont have a bad software for your programmer that is doing this, or that you didnt clean solder joints on chip before attaching clamp tool then most likely this is what happens:

your mb is drawing current trough the bios connectors, voltage in programmer drops and makes read issues and therefore you wont get a good read, or same read each time.

check clamp tool, must be clean on pins, and pins must be alligned in clamp
chips resoldered can be hard to read again on board since solder joints are not alligned as from factory and that makes it hard for clamp tool to get same connection on all pins.

if you can read ok with soldered connection to chip when chip is soldered on board, then clamp tool is the issue.

buy better clamp tool, or buy better programmer that can hold voltage stable during work(find reason first)

Hi!

I have an Acer Aspire 8930G (Insyde BIOS) dead in the water after a failed bios update. I have a CH341A programmer but the BIOS file downloaded from Acer Support is named "KM2X64.fd" and I'm not sure this is the correct file to write with the programmer and renaming it to "KM2X64.bin" doesn't work, as in I can write it to the chip but the laptop doesn't boot. Here is the link to the BIOS provided by Acer: https://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/BIOS/BIOS/BIOS_Acer_1.20_A_A.zip?acerid=634055162376356533&Step1=NOTEBOOK&Step2=ASPIRE&Step3=ASPIRE%208930G&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=AAP_1

Can anyone please help me to get the correct BIOS file that can be flashed onto the chip with the programmer? Many thanks in advance.
