Hello, and thank you for responding

https://www.helpjet.net/dl/HP-Pavilion-a...p35111.exe

This is the only thing i could find i have searched for hours, its what i used to update the bios from 3.07 to 3.10... I hope this is correct

This is the correct update. I extracted the executable file and there was a .rtf file specifying this update (version 3.10) for your motherboard. v3.10 updates the VBIOS.

Unfortunately, the tool I use to extract Phoenix BIOS images (AndyP's PhoenixTool) will not extract this BIOS image. I perform my edits on the extracted modules.

The error is "Not Phoenix/Dell/Insyde/EFI BIOS". This is definitely a Phoenix BIOS though. The following string can be seen in the BIOS image using a hex editor: "Phoenix Technologies, LTD 3.1012/13/2006".

I've come across this problem a few times before with some really old 512KB Phoenix BIOS images. I'm not sure how to solve it at this time. I will do some research, but do let me know if you come across a solution (something that allows me to extract the files from the BIOS image).

For reference, you can extract the BIOS update executable with Universal Extract. The BIOS image is the file named "3.10" within it.

It appears this is actually an Award BIOS. Doing another hex search, Award is also present in this image. Phoenix and Award merged way back in 1998. I forgot about that. Thanks DeathBringer for bringing this to my attention by merging this thread here.

I unfortunately do not yet know how to modify Award BIOS images. I plan on learning in the coming weeks and if no one else takes up this mod beforehand I will gladly answer this request. That said, it will be some time so if anyone else could take this one that would be great.

(1000th post!!!!)

Hello,

Looks like no one else is available to take this mod. I will do my best to fulfill this request. I just got back from vacation, so I can now begin looking into Award BIOS modding. I will keep you posted on how things are going. Thank you for your patience.
