i have a problem and wondering if anyone has a fix. i put a q9100 in my 8935g but it doesn't start up anything i need to do to get it working?

Probably CPU with quad cores isn't supported by your motherboard.
But you can try the motherboard's mod for quad core CPU supporting:

I got a laptop yesterday, it has a P7450 and I still have a QX9300 lying around, I installed it but the screen stays black. I saw on the internet that there are also models with a quad core processor. Is there a way to get the QX9300 to work?

Post a screenshot of third (Mainboard) tab of CPU-Z.
Show a photo of stickers on (or near) slots for memory.

Your motherboard has 31ZY8MB0000 revision. It hasn't quad core support.
