I have a lenovo b580 and I removed whitelist from my laptop but it was just for wi-fi card. do you think it is neccesary to remove whitelist for cpu ? So I planned to upgrade i5 3210m to i7 - 3630qm. there is 10 wat difference betwenn i5 and i7. When I check my laptop information book , there are some cpu which is available with Lenovo b580 but there isn't i7 cpu. When I check my chipset in Intel website, it looks like available.

BIOS for this laptop hasn't CPU whitelist. Try to find i7-3612QM or i7-3632QM with TDP=35W.

Dear all,
Is it possible to make work an i7-3612QM/SR0MQ on a Lenovo B580?
Lenovo Service Bridge identify the motherboard as Machine Type Model 437759339464 .
All hardware info utilities report the MB as Model type 20144.
The chipset is HM77.
The current CPU is i5-3210M/SR0MZ and work perfect for years.
The BIOS version is H5ET73WW(1.16)
With i7-3612MQ does not boot normal, only loop restart with loud cooler and no beep , no image on Display or HDMI or VGA (without main battery, removed BIOS battery and only AC power connected)
Can you please help me?
Thank you very much
Kind regards.

1. Download ME 8 1.5MB v8.1.70.1590.rar, extract 8.1.70.1590_1.5MB_PRD_RGN.bin and rename it to me.bin
2. Go to Intel ME System Tools v8\FWUpdate\Local-Win64\ and copy me.bin there.
3. Run in the command line with administrative rights and save results:
FWUpdLcl64 -f me.bin
4. Don't reboot but power off your system and disconnect power cord for few minutes.
5. Boot, enter in BIOS, do Load Defaults, save and exit.
6. Make new results of MEInfo

Hi,

Same behavior with i7. No video.

Still working the i5-3210m.

I will try to verify the i7 on another computer.

Thank you very much.

Kind regards,
Tudor
