ASUS R1F CPU upgrade
#1
Hello,

I have an old laptop ASUS R1F with Intel core 2 duo T7200 SL9SF and bought an Intel core 2 duo T7600 SL9SD hoping that laptop will boot up after swap, but screen remain black all the time without any signs of working.

Current bios is 3.11 installed from ASUS support page:
BIOS 311

These are the specs of current CPU:
T7200

Specs from T7600 which wanted to use on laptop but does not boot:
T7600

Can you please advise if current bios support T7600 or not and if not, a bios mod can be made to support it?

Also, currently only 3.2 GB of RAM is shown into BIOS as well into Windows. Size of the RAM can be increased to 4GB?

Thank you

Post a screenshot with Mainboard tab of CPU-Z.
And make good photos of your T7600.

Hello,

Sorry for late response.

See here pictures with the physical T7600 CPU and CPU-Z mainboard tab.

Labels on your T7600 aren't original.
So I think it's dead remarked CPU.

Thank you DeathBringer for confirmation.
I was suspecting it's a dead CPU but not had another laptop to test it.
As for the fake labels, I won't look on Aliexpress again for another one Smile
