Remove UEFI from an old Gigabyte motherboard? GA-990FXA-UD3
#1
For my own superstitious reasons, I don't want a motherboard with UEFI on it. I don't like bloatware. A motherboard doesn't need an internet-enabled mini-operating system on it. (I'll be putting windows 7 on it.)

I specifically chose the GA-990FXA-UD3 because it was among the newest motherboards that still used EFI BIOS.

Revisions 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 use a 'normal' BIOS, while any revision newer than that uses a UEFI BIOS.

I ordered one from Amazon believing I was getting a revision I wanted, but they were just using a stock photo and sent me revision 4.0 of the motherboard, which uses a UEFI BIOS.

Can the BIOS from an older revision be flashed that doesn't use UEFI? Can the BIOS be modified to remove UEFI from it?

I'd rather not just use legacy mode, because I read that legacy mode still loads all the bloatware while just emulating the old boot process.

Thank you.
