Hi kruegsh, can you tell me step by step how you restored the bios?
I don't know if mine has a sim slot. I have the SA2, and will soon have a SE1. My SA2 is bricked, it's still in the repair shop but I might take it back to try to fix it myself. I want to flash R1031H4 to the SE1 so I can get SATA3.

I had to unsolder my flash ROM to read and write it without errors! You need a SPI flash programmer for that job. I ordered one over ebaySmile (Sofitech SP8-A) You need to overwrite the part that contains the settings of the BIOS (VSS). It is the part that has a size of 64 KiByte. Check Andy's pheonix tool or Marcan's pythons scripts to extract the BIOS parts. Dump your BIOS and replace the part with the original one. Use a HEX-editor for that. That's it!
The BIOS files provided by SONY and the dump have different offsets for those parts! You need (un)solder skills ... I used a wire sling to remove the tin-solder between flash ROM pins and mainboard. Don't use to much force! You want to lift the pins a bit not to rip the solder pins off.

Thanks. Did you do this for your SA or SE?

Thanks Camilo, used your original bios with advanced settings, got my 500 mb read speed and can sleep now )). Don't see much difference in fan noise with newer sony bios and don't see any other problems. Donated little something to the forum (couldn't figure out how to donate to you directly) I hope it helps. Just wanted to say thank again for you work.

Camilo, do you think you could try to enable SATA III in the BIOS so kruegsch could try it out? He's agreed to do so since he's able to reflash his bios (form my understanding)

I would rise up the amount of my donation this time Wink.

I'm curious what you mean by choosing between SATA3 or bluetooth?
(01-06-2012, 06:16 PM)IceZZ Wrote: OK. I downloaded he file from camiloml's dropbox. it extracted. then i ran "inside flash.exe" while still in windows 7. then i rebooted into bios. Saw a lot of goodies. When i saved and exit. It turned off. Now it does not do anything anymore :O When i click the start button nothing happens//!

Can anyone help me? i don't know what to do.

What laptop do you have?

The same thing happen to me, I lost bluetooth feature after flashing this advanced menu R2085H4, even I downgrade to official bios of R2085H4, the bluetooth still cannot work. Do you know how to figure that?

I installed the biosmod 100%_Vaio_VPCSA_R1031H4_AdvMenuUlk_ByCamiloml.exe
My bios was R1031H4. My laptop is Sony Vaio VPCSA2 with 128x2 raid.
--Steps
>I ran the above exe and it extracted in C:. It gave a pop up that I already have the required bios and it did not install anything.
>In C:\VAIOBIOS (this is the location where the above exe extracted the contents) I right clicked InsydeFlash.exe and ran it as administrator. This did not popup anything but my system was showing 100% cpu usage for like 2 minutes. After this the CPU became normal and I restarted the system and went to check the bios. To my surprise the mod bios was installed. Remember, I did not got any window or popup in Windows 7.
> I only enabledIntel VT-d setting and saved the bios and restarted the system.

I have not changed any other setting. Thanks for the bios and the advanced settings are now unlocked.
