Similar layout. But I know for a fact it is not gigabyte. It is foxconn. However designed specifically for acer. Likely won't find it on a manufacturer website as it's not a model sold under normal circumstances. Either way I got windows 7 runinng just ha to fix the MBR.

I also have a(n) f690gvm. Windows 7 32bit installed flawlessly; note: be sure to install the Vista 32bit audio driver or games will run at 10-15fps less then they should. PAE appears to be on by default so 4gb can be used by the system.

Windows 7 64bit however, would install properly but depending on the combination with certain video cards. The video driver wont stick (even if it is 4bit)because it would never recognize the video card properly. I was unable to get the system working with on-board audio and an ATI Radeon 4890.
